Consultation: This leaflet is being sent out to the people of Barnsley to obtain their views and will remain open for the next four weeks. Need: There is a lack of play facilities for young people from age 8 upwards, to teenagers and, for all members of our community. Background: The Friends of Locke Park have been directly responsible for providing the funds for ‘The Park Run’ the new Play area, refurbishing the cafe, the bandstand and the iconic Locke Park Tower. Our part-time gardeners continue to enhance the appearance of the park. We hold many annual fund raising events:- Our Classic Car, Gala, Music, Christmas and Easter events, together with car boot sales. They help to bring both the local and the wider communities together and with your help we will provide facilities to help young people to keep fit, enjoy sport, and help to build confidence.
