Majority of the Students are belongs to the SC, ST and OBC communities and

hence contributing to the social inclusion.

Department has the Human Resources with better skills in Quantitative

Techniques and Econometrics.

The University Jurisdiction has the good number of feeding colleges

Weaknesses

Scarcity of Permanent Teachers

Majority of the students admitted to the department are from rural area and are

from Kannada medium. Hence Majority of them are finding it difficult to cop up

with course.

Opportunities

Department has the better opportunity to design the courses related to Quantitative

techniques and econometric which have better opportunities in the market.

The department has opportunity to design the skill oriented courses like applied

econometrics

Davangere being business Centre, the department has an opportunity to design

courses like business economics

Threats

Declining interest towards arts disciple due to declining employment

opportunities.
