1 Maple Parents, Its hard to believe that our school year is coming to an end. Every year when I think about how much children grow and change in a single school year, I am amazed. I am amazed at the physical changes that take place. They get taller. Their hair grows longer. Many of the younger chil- dren begin to look like big kidsand less like babies. I am always amazed at the growth children make socially. They make new friends and learn to solve problems among peers. Lastly, is the academic growth! So many children enter our doors in August not being able to read. Now they are reading books! Often our younger children dont recognize numbers, but now they add and subtract. Children learn about science and history, and they are excited about what they learn. This is why education is the most rewarding job in world and why it is such a privilege to be a part of it! It has been a privilege to be Maples principal for the 2018-19 school year! I wish everyone a safe and restful summer break! Maple Parents,

It’s hard to believe that our school year is coming to an end. Every year when I think about how much children grow and change in a single school year, I am amazed. I am amazed at the physical changes that take place. They get taller. Their hair grows longer. Many of the younger chil-dren begin to look like “big kids” and less like babies. I am always amazed at the growth children make socially. They make new friends and learn to solve problems among peers. Lastly, is the academic growth! So many children enter our doors in August not being able to read. Now they are reading books! Often our younger children don’t recognize numbers, but now they add and subtract. Children learn about science and history, and they are excited about what they learn.

This is why education is the most rewarding job in world and why it is such a privilege to be a part of it! It has been a privilege to be Maple’s principal for the 2018-19 school year! I wish everyone a safe and restful summer break!

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week

May 6-10, 2019

Teacher Appreciation Week is a time to celebrate the hard work & dedication of our teachers and school staff.

Take a little time to recognize YOUR favorite teachers/ school staff each day.

Monday — Why is your teacher a STAR? Write them a short note to let them know. Don’t forget other teachers/support staff too. (Intervention, office staff, special area, custodians, cafeteria, etc.).

Tuesday — Let’s let the teachers rest . . . . No School.

Wednesday — Wear your teacher’s favorite color.

Thursday — Treat your teacher to his/her favorite drink or snack.

Friday — Restock your teacher’s supplies. Bring in a supply that your teacher can use in the classroom (pencils, erasers, mark-ers, stickers, etc.)

Please continue to collect box tops and coke products bottle tops on your summer break!!!

Online Registration for 2019-20 School Year Now Open Greater Clark County Schools is excited to announce that online registration for the 2019-20 school year is now open for current students and students new to the district. Online registration, through the pro-gram, InfoSnap, eases the completion and submission of a multitude of forms that are required to reg-ister your students with the district.

Current students need a new password, also known as a snapcode, to register online. You can access your child’s snapcode by logging in to your Power School Parent Portal account. There will be a menu bar to the left, click on the ‘snapcode’ icon at the top. The new snapcode was sent home. Current stu-dents must register by selecting the “Current Student Registration” link on the district website at

www.gcs.k12.in.us. Current students are those that are currently enrolled at any GCCS school.

New students register under new student. If you have questions, please contact your child’s school.

Applications for the 2019-20 Meal/textbook assistance cannot be submitted until after July 1, 2019. If applications are submitted before that date, the status will carry over for the first 30 days of the school year; then a new application will need to be submitted.
