It was lovely to see so many parents in the audience, beginning (or continuing) their partnership with the school in their children’s education. Special thanks go to Mrs Karen Crawford, deputy principal, for her excellent coordination of the evening. We are also very appreciative of our uniform shop coordinator, Belinda Batty’s ‘interactive’ presentation and our P&C President, Kadie Wegenaar’s informative address to the parents. This year’s wonderful kindergarten teaching team were in attendance as well which is another example of the school’s ongoing commitment to ensuring our future students and their families have a first class introduction to CCNPS! We sincerely thank Diane and Graham Rowe for entering CCNPS into the competition and we look forward to purchasing more science resources to support the teaching and learning of the key learning area, science. 2017 Class Placement In the near future we will be commencing the process of organising classes for 2017. If you will be moving from our school at the end of this year it would be appreciated if you could complete the attached form on page 6 and return it to the office as soon as possible. If you have any special considerations you would like the school to be aware of when planning classes, you are welcome to submit these in writing to the principal. Please note this doesn’t include requesting a specific teacher for next year. Deputy Principal’s Report From the Deputy Congratulations • Congratulations to Joel, Byron, Katarina,

Alessandro, Anna, Mirka and who represented Curl Curl North PS last Sunday in the Chess Tournament held at Knox Senior School. All players did extremely well and I thank parents for transporting and staying with their children all day.

• To Ben 3C and Simon 3C, who both scored the ‘best marks in our school’, for the Australian Maths Competition (AMC). Both boys competed in the Junior competition and received special recognition from the Australian Maths Trust.

Warringah Mall Band Performances Next Tuesday 8 November, I look forward to the Training Band, Junior Band, Senior Band and the Stage Band all performing at Warringah Mall Food Court Stage between 12.00pm and 1.00pm. If you are able and in the area, please come along and be entertained by our bands.

Melbourne Cup

6S embraced the Melbourne Cup by creating hats in their art and craft time

Road Safety Marcus our Pitt Rd crossing supervisor, is very concerned that some students are not using the crossing to cross the road.

Some students are walking up Playfair Rd after school, then they are crossing Playfair Rd before it connects with Pitt Rd and then they are crossing Pitt Rd further down.

Please encourage your children to use the Pitt Rd supervised crossing. We have a lot of trucks still operating around this area and what has been witnessed, is not a safe thing for our children to pursue.

Best wishes

Jeff Ballinger, Deputy Principal

Library News Library News Congratulations to the following winners of the eBook raffle: Hayley 6S, Rojin 5J, Nathan 4J and Jack 3M. These children received their prize last week, a new book of their choice to keep.

Last month a record number of eBooks were borrowed from our new eLibrary: 426 eBooks borrowed by the children in our school in October!! This is a great addition to our existing library, there is a wide choice available and the children have the convenience of borrowing books when it is convenient for them and not having to wait for library day.

If you haven’t already done so, you may like to download the App to your phone or iPad:

Once you have downloaded the App you will be asked to

‘Find Your Library’. This is the name of our school.

Alternatively you may like to go through the website: https://nccp.wheelers.co .

Term 4 is extremely busy for the band. Please see later in the newsletter the Band calendar for the rest of the year and make notes in your diary of the dates. Please note that all hired instruments being returned to the school need to be signed back in by an adult. Please make a note of when your childs instrument
