The “Handset Profiling” application is based on theAstellia passive monitoring solution. Non intrusive, it pro-vides a clear picture of how voice and data are perceivedfrom real handsets and the subscribers’ perspectivefrom any point of the network.

The solution analyzes and measures handset perform-ance from aggregated voice and packet service statisticsover time and location.

Faster handset validation process

“Handset Profiling” provides your procurement and mar-keting teams with reliable tools to benchmark new hand-sets based on specific criteria such as video streaming orcall efficiency. It helps them choose the most efficientsets for optimized voice and data usage.

Alarm triggering

Alarms might be defined on the basis of exceedingthresholds or from a combination of conditions such asthe number of calls and their success rate for a specificBSC or RNC for instance .

All alarms can be set on any network element on a daily,weekly or monthly basis. In case of problems occurring onthe network such as an increase in location update failures,“Handset Profiling” is particularly useful for identifying causeslinked to specific types of handsets precisely and quickly.

Multi-dimensional Key PerformanceIndicators (KPIs)

The Astellia “Handset Profiling” application offers advancedout-of-the-box QoS and QoE KPIs calculated according tohandset classification (IMEI and User Agent detection) andbased on real traffic observation.
