Data Warehouse - Pennant Accounts Data Collection

Data Warehouse - Pennant Accounts Data Collection

• A new Pennant Accounts data collection will replace the current BRS data in the Data Warehouse

– In WebI: The BRS and BRS Combined universes

• The collection will encompass all data converted into the new system, which includes any student (and all their detail) who has had any AR transactions in the last two years, plus students who have an active Financial Hold at the time of conversion

• The current BRS data will remain, but will no longer be updated after the Pennant Accounts goes live in Fall of 2015

• Translation tables will be available for mapping the new Pennant Accounts Detail Codes to the current BRS Subcodes

User Review and Outreach

• Beginning in May, the Pennant Accounts Reporting Team will begin targeted outreach to users for review of the new data collection and WebI universe

• Additional Data Review sessions will be scheduled in late summer, and will include reviews of the new structures, query review, and tips on converting individual queries

• We will be reaching out to all users who have been running queries against the current BRS tables.

Documentation and Query Conversion

• On-line documentation will be provided on the Data Administration web-site, available in late Summer/early Fall and will include: – Detailed data diagrams – Table and data element documentation – Documentation of the Corporate Reports that will be

delivered at go-live • All Corporate Report queries will be converted centrally and

delivered at go-live, including: – The various ‘count student’ queries currently available – The BRS accounts and snapshot queries

• Assistance on converting individual queries will be provided

What is Pennant Graduate Funding

• A transactional web-based system to pay Graduate Tuition and Fees

• Replaces the Departmental Grant Award process in SAM

• School users enter Allocations which will initially pay student bills from clearing accounts

• School users add Distributions which will refund the clearing account and charge actual funding sources

• Multiple years of funding may be entered

• Data tracked for PHD schools, plus LPS & Law

– Tuition & Fees for all

– Stipend entry is optional

• Will be able to compare what was authorized to what was charged in BRS / Pennant / GL
