PERFORATIONSPerforation to chose among Atena perforations models performed on the long side of the stave. 10 mm smooth edge along the perimeter of the long side. Smooth base, smooth end caps on request.

D E S C R I P T I O N

Baffles’ system is made up of vertical box-shaped elements (B30/B40/B50), plain or perforated along the long sides, hooked on variable distance carriers (minimum gap 70 mm). System can be suspended using standard hangers and double spring or threated bars. For special arrangements Baffles can be installed using T-grid and its own “Tilt-spin system” to allow 360° rotation and vertical inclination. T-grid bearing structure can be suspended using AtenaTwister hangers. Baffles are opened on one side, while the foreheads can be closed with proper closing caps.

To create a lighting false ceiling without any interruption between luminous element and baffle body, Atena S.p.A. has developed the “Lighting Baffle”; this special element is properly shaped to lodge LED bars, with opal or microprismatic screen, for an effect of diffuse or punctual light.The Lighting Baffle are available with base of 50 mm only.

Baffles are widely used to improve the acoustic comfort. They can be used alone or in addition to the existent false ceiling.As well as for the acoustic function Baffles help to preserve the natural lighting and the air flow coming from windows and roof.

From the acoustic point of view, Baffles can be used as absorbers or deflectors of the sound wave. According to project requirements, vertical elements may be totally plain to promote sound reflection or perforated and filled with acoustic pad to absorb noises.

To choose the right vertical elements to apply, the acoustic material, the number of Baffles and their disposition, it is necessary to carry out a preliminary analysis of the environment and its functions. To do this, Atena S.p.A. cooperates with specialized companies to provide a specific service for acoustic treatment.

The perforation is on the long sides only, while the lower one and the two short sides are plain.

1 Draw the lines of the perimeter frame.

2 Determine the height of the ceiling with a level and mark it with a string.

3 Install the hangers and hook the carriers according to the project requirements’ interaxe.

4 Hook the Baffle on the carriers’ reed.

5 Bend down the carrier locking wings to ensure the system.

6 Install the joints to ensure the right alignement of the carriers.

7 Install the Baffle joints to guarantee the continuity of the elements.

6 If required, install the capsto close the Baffle heads.

1 Draw the lines of the perimeter frame.

2 Determine the height of the ceiling with a level and mark it with a string.

3 Proceed with the installation of structure. Install the wall angles with nails, screws and/or plugs suitable to the wall material.

4 Fix the hangers according to the type of ceiling to be installed.

5 Install the main runners with an interaxe of 1200* mm.

6 Proceed with the installation of 1200 mm cross T profiles in to the mail carrier.

7 Install 600 mm Cross T in to 1200 mm Cross T profiles. * Verify the interaxe according to the load at m2 and particular conditions.

1 Complete the installation of the structure.

2 Install the tilt-spin system hooks according to the projet requirements and orientate their position.

Cleaning and maintenance require some attention and care even though are easy to make and don’t take much time. It is necessary to use neutral and not aggressive soaps. In case of any damage, staves can be repainted or replaced.

False ceilings maintenance usually refers to: placing, alignment or replacement of damaged or broken staves. Baffles can be also removed for restoration or maintenence of the system below.

The maintenance work shall be appointed to specialised workers trained with technical data sheets about setting, removal and maintenance of the false ceilings, in order to ensure excellent results.

Using inadequate tools can damage the structure, causing adherence loss or even accidental Baffle fall.

All the maintenance intervention must follow the technical data sheet indication and every noted diversity has to be promptly reported.

Each worker assigned with maintenance operation must carefully remove the Baffle, perform the intervention and do not alter the false ceiling structure, the hanging system and the connection between these elements.

When the maintenance is over, install again the Baffle, verifying that the staves are properly hooked to the carriers and the planarity is guaranteed. Any difference in staves level is caused by wrong installation and, for this reason, they must be quickly controlled.

Each Atena false ceiling is produced for internal use according to the technical rules for construction EUROCODICE and the specific regulations UNI EN 13964, 14195:2005.

Each Atena S.p.A. product has its own DOP (Declaration Of Performance) CE according to the European Law 305/2011.

False ceilings and claddings for internal and external use have to be dimensioned on environment features, to list some of the possible examples: earthquakes, wind, thermal expansion, place of installation, use destination of the building and project requests.

Indipendently by information, suggestions, advices and technical opinions exchanged between the parts, Atena S.p.A. will produce its products only according to the orders received and the technical drawings/projects attached, having no responsibility on what is not indicated in the order, in the technical drawings or in the project.

Atena S.p.A., as producer, is responsible for manufacturing defects. Complaints have to be presented according to the selling conditions. Materials used for Atena false ceilings have been produced just with this purpose, every other use is considered improper.



S T O R A G E M O D E

Materials supplied by Atena S.p.A. shall be maintained in good condition from purchase to installation. Materials must be stored in a closed, clean and dry site. Atena S.p.A. protects its products with resistant packaging under normal handling. Please handle packages with care to avoid shocks and inappropriate handling that might damage what is provided. Baffles are delivered on pallets secured with stripes and cellophane.

The manual handling must be carried out with caution and in compliance with safety regulations at work. For carriage of packaged products on pallets, provide a mechanical transport to avoid damages or risks resulting from inadequate transport.
