The dare 2b AEP Pro II iNSERT utilises the very latest research and technology to provide superior performance. The newly developed insert is designed with a 3D multi density foam pad construction providing the professional and experienced rider with the very best in comfort and fit whilst in the saddle.The insert offers multi density support with stretch to protect the cyclists saddle contact zone against the different compression levels felt whilst riding and provides full range of movement.The Dare 2b AEP Pro II iNSERT is available in men’s and women’s models to allow for the different conformation of the male and female saddle zone.The Dare 2b AEP Pro II iNSERT increases the pressure distribution between the shorts and the rider ultimately improving riding comfort for the cyclist.

The specially crafted outer perforated fabric allows for greater breathability and for moisture to transfer quickly making the rider more comfortable. The new foam construction is 30% lighter in weight and thinner than gel inserts, which allows the rider to have greater contact and feel for the saddle.

The dare 2b AEP apparel collection has been designed to intelligently manage and regulate body temperature by examining key zonal areas where heat and moisture from active use can affect a cyclists performance.As the body heats up the blood vessels in the skin vasodilate allowing more blood to pass nearer to the skin surface. This allows more heat to radiate away into the surrounding air. When wearing a garment this process becomes more difficult as the heat must pass through another layer. To combat this we have utilised thinner materials and meshed panels in the zones where the body radiates the most heat. As sweat forms on the skin it heats up causing the molecules to excite and turn into water vapour. When the water vapour evaporates it takes the heat away with it causing a cooling effect on the skin. To assist with this process meshed panels and ventilation zips have been placed in areas the body sweats the most. This work means thermal comfort can be maintained whilst on the bike allowing optimal performance to be maintained for longer periods. Differences between male and female heat and sweat patterns have also been taken into account to make sure the garments are optimised for each gender.

The dare 2b AEP collection is designed in collaboration with Tour de France winner Oscar Pereiro. Designed and tailored to function in the cyclist’s position the AEP apparel range contours to your body whilst in the riding position. Every detail is carefully considered and crafted to intelligently perform and keep the rider comfortable.

When riding for long periods the hands

can become numb and there is a chance

of developing ‘cyclist palsy’, a

condition where the ulnar nerve gets

compressed causing numbness in the

4th and 5th fingers.

Research into the pressure distributions

over the ulna nerve during cycling has

shown the main points in the hand where

the pressure is concentrated. A study

showed the use of foam padding resulted

in significantly lower peak pressure than

gel. Our padded gloves utilises these

findings, offering an increased support

with 5mm padding thickness compared

to standard 3mm and 60% more

compliant than gel inserts.

Kinematics

iLUS Windshell is a lightweight fabric that helps to eliminate wind chill. With its advanced water repellency and breathability features, it makes it the ideal choice as an outer layer in milder conditions.

Dare 2b iLUS Softshell provides breathability and wind resistance keeping the user comfortable in a wide variety of conditions. The fabric is also treated with a water resistant treatment to allow water to bead off its surface to stop it from soaking into the fibres.

BASE LAYERThe Dare 2b base layer apparel range uses a variety of natural and synthetic yarns to help regulate body temperature as part of an intelligent layering system.

SOFTSHELLDare 2b iLUS Softshell garments are engineered for the active user. It combines the comfort of a soft mid layer and the water resistance of a shell in one garment, which makes it perfect all year round piece.

Garments engineered with Dare 2b’s Ared fabrics provide truly durable waterproofness, keeping water out through prolonged use in harsh conditions and demanding terrain. We measure the waterproof level or hydro static head of all our garments and offer a full hierarchy of performance, starting at 5,000mm all the way up to 20,000mm.All Ared products are classified as truly windproof and hold up against the most demanding standards, which help to preserve the body’s thermo regulation and keep the user comfortable. Breathability is also key for reducing overheating and perspiration build up. Ared products allow sweat to pass through and escape in the form of moisture vapour. We ensure under testing that during heavy exertion our fabrics must breathe well to a standard of 10,000/m2/24hrs.

Several of our premium performance garments are engineered utilising stretch technology making them ideal for high energy activities by providing uncompromised freedom of movement. The use of stretch fabrics also means each garment contains less material and therefore reduces weight and bunching of excess fabric.

Our Q-Wic+ fabric is extremely versatile, giving you the best of both worlds. They enable the user to experience the benefit of a functional technical piece, offering wicking and quick dry properties, combined with the look, fit and hand feel of a casual cotton t-shirt. Q-Wic+ features an added anti bacterial treatment for bacteria and odour control.

Located from a sustainable source, our Body Carbon Bamboo Base layer offers natural wicking and anti-bacterial odour control treatment, that never washes away. In addition the BODY Carbon Bamboo Base layer provides thermal warmth and a smooth and soft hand feel.

Dehydration can affect energy levels and cognitive skills. Used across a variety of lightweight equipment pieces, the Aqua Flow hydration system ensures easy access to fluids whilst active. Each specific mouthpiece has been developed to allow the user to sip with ease and avoid spills.

Biomotion Reflective Technology is our latest development in to the use of retro-reflective trims. Research into the placement of retro-reflective on garments has shown significant increases in performance when placed on moveable joints.

The Dare 2b Biomotion configuration allows a person to be detected as a human rather than an object. We have utilised and placed reflective strategically to optimise the wearer’s visibility at greater distances, which allows us to use less but more effective reflective.
