DARCIEF AT A GLANCE… Dauphine Research Center in Islamic Economics and Finance (DARCIEF) is the first French non-profit organization specializing in Islamic Economics and Finance, operating in English and French. It is closely linked and is supported by the Islamic finance executive Master Program of Dauphine University a prestigious university which is one of the top ten universities in Europe (Equis accredited). ITS MAIN OBJECTIVES… Creating a framework in France for research in Islamic Economics and Finance Establishment of a platform for exchange, assistance and sharing of knowledge among its members from complementary disciplines. To achieve its objectives DARCIEF encourages young researchers to deepen their theoretical and empirical studies about current issues in the development of the Islamic finance industry. Research and studies that will be then discussed in the context of bi-monthly seminars in the university. Thus, innovative concepts on the study of Islamic finance, as a way to secure the social aspect of finance will receive the full attention of DARCIEF. A RANGE OF KEY TOPICS : Islamic economics thoughts Islamic finance as an alternative finance Risk-management in Islamic finance Regulation and Islamic monetary policy Islamic micro-finance and Islamic crowd funding Waqf, and Zakat system Takaful and re-Takaful Ethical and socially responsible finance. Marketing Strategies of Islamic financial institutions Islamic law of contracts and Islamic financial transactions. Politics and Islamic economic system RESOURCES PROVIDED FOR MEMBERS : An academic database for doctoral theses in Islamic Finance and Economy. A face book with supervisors: HDR and Doctors in various fields of Islamic Finance and Economy. Individual and personalized meetings with ad hoc support for doctoral students on research topics. Information and online help via the website (Q&A Calendar of flagship research in the world, etc..). Inform members about ongoing research and studies applying to Islamic finance in France.
