Not all strangers are bad…but some are and you can’t tell which ones are good and which ones are bad just by looking at them.

So you need to be careful around ALL strangers.

Just because a stranger looks nice doesn’t mean it’s ok to talk to them.

There are some strangers you can trust and it’s OK to talk to them.

TALKING TO STRANGERS

If they follow you, go to a trusted adult and tell them a stranger is bothering you.

Page 17: Danger from a stranger

UNLESS A TRUSTED ADULT SAYS IT’S OK…YOU SHOULD NEVER LET A STRANGER…

Ask you questions about your name, age, Mom or Dad’s name, where you live, phone number, or other personal information.

Ask you to do something that you know is wrong, makes you feel bad, makes you feel scared, or confused.

Ask you to do something that will be a secret from everyone else.

DON’T LET A STRANGER

Give you anything. Ask you to help them do or find something. Take you ANYWHERE. Tell you they are a grown up and you have to

mind them. Tell you their name and then tell you that they

aren’t a stranger anymore.

Page 26: Danger from a stranger

DON’T LET A STRANGER

Tell you that Mommy or Daddy has been hurt in an accident and that you have to go with them.

If Mommy or Daddy really have been hurt it will be someone you know and trust (not a stranger) who comes to get you.

Page 27: Danger from a stranger

DON’T LET A STRANGER

Touch you anywhere but especially in your private places. The places that would be covered by a bathing suit.

Page 28: Danger from a stranger

WHEN SOMEONE YOU TRUST…

Tries to touch your private place… Tries to get you to do something wrong… Does something to you that makes you feel

bad, scared, or confused…

GO TO A DIFFERENT TRUSTED PERSON AND TELL THEM WHAT HAS

HAPPENED

Page 29: Danger from a stranger

IF ANYONE DOES SOMETHING BAD TO YOU… Walk away from them.

Go straight to a trusted adult and tell what happened.

Page 30: Danger from a stranger

IF YOU CAN’T GET AWAY FROM THE BAD PERSON…

Yell (don’t scream or cry) as loud as you can…

THIS PERSON IS NOT MY MOMMY/DADDY… THEY ARE TRYING TO HURT ME… SOMEONE HELP ME!

Make as much noise as you can so other people will look at you.
