1 am gratified and proud that our Alma Mater has

not only accepted the trust of the Hogg Foundation, but

that it has grasped and is utilizing the ever-widening

facilities offered. I cannot say too much for the wonder- ful assistance and co-operation that have been given by

every official of the University and the members of the Board of Regents in supporting the program of the Foun- dation. Dr. Sutherland has been a remarkable leader and has chosen well the members of his staff.

New forms of knowledge are emerging which include techniques for the alleviation of physical and mental ill- ness. It is mybelief that the time is not too far distant

when the application of the best available knowledge in

our educational institutions will train and guide our children so the ill effects of life's frustrations will be

minimized and thus our children will be better equipped to realize their divine heritage as useful, happy citizens.

It is for these reasons Ibelieve the members of our

famlly have been most fortunate in placing our confidence

in the Univer sity of Texas.

With warmest good wishes and with deepest appre- ciation for the beautiful dinner of April 5, and for all the

generous thoughts, I am

Sincerely yours,

/s/ Ima Hogg

Each Regent and President Wilson joined with the Chairman in ex- pressing gratitude to Miss Ima Hogg for her thoughtful expressions

in this letter.

COOPERATION, EX-STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION. -- Chairman Sealy reported that he had received a very fine letter from Mr. Herman $ones, President of the Ex-Students' Association, who expressed on

behalf of the Ex-Students' Association the desire to cooperate fully with the administration and the Board of Regents and who specifically

expressed willingness to help in any possible manner. Each member of the Board was gratified by the splendid spirit of cooperation ex-

pressed in this communication.
