DALEKOARTS CLOSES INAUGURAL SEASON WITH PROOF

New Pragues professional theatre company will close its inaugural season with the Pulitzer Prize-winner, Proof

August 28th, 2013 DalekoArts, New Pragues professional ensemble theatre company, will enter its final weekend of showsthis Friday, August 30th at 7:30pm at the New Prague Middle School with the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Proof.

Prooffollows Catherine, a troubled young woman, who has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famousmathematician. Following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions; the arrival of her estranged sister, Claire;and the attentions of Hal, a former student of her fathers who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that herfather left behind. Over the long weekend that follows, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebookdraw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: How much of her fathers madnessor geniuswill she inherit? Alongwith the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2001, Proofalso took home the Tony Award for Best Play that year. Artistic DirectorAmanda White plays Catherine. It's a perfect play to end the season with," said White. "We've shared some classic comedy,some wonderful music, some romance, and now we finish with an award-winning drama. This play mattersits a story abouta young woman facing her own strength. Im honored to be a part of telling it."

In addition to White, the show features Minnesota stage veterans Charles Numrich, Leigha Horton, and Bobby Gardner, whoalso appeared in the DalekoArts production of Forever Plaid. The production is directed by Amy Rummenie, co-ArtisticDirector of Walking Shadow Theatre Company, Minneapolis.
