The Ocean

The sun glistens off the crashing waves

Twinkling as the water moves in and out

With every wave comes a new pile of seashells

Waiting to be discovered

The roaring waves rush to meet the sand

Pulling it out to sea

Slowly grinding rocks into pebbles

And pebbles into grains of sand

The ocean is never ending

The Light

The light slowly appears from the horizon

Lifting upwards towards the sky

Bringing us out of the darkness

Telling us to forgive and forget

Because today is a new day

Thoughts

Pink fuzz between your toes

Giant red balloons floating in the air

Green leafy trees swaying in the wind whistling

their favorite songs

Small jars of jam stacked on shelves

Just waiting to be used

What else will come to mind before I fall asleep

Iambic Tetrameter

I want to sleep, I cannot think

The day is done, I hit my peak

My poem’s done, I can’t do more

Turn off the light and shut the door

Ode to nature

The wind goes to many places

Softly touching many faces

Bringing smells into out noses

Pollen comes up from the roses

The wind that fuels hurricanes

Rustles grass upon the plains

The gusts that blow around the world

Messing up your hair if it is curled

The wind that travels everywhere

Is enough for all of us to share

Limerick

A cow a snake and a goat

Were once floating around in a boat

When they found a small fish

Who then granted them a wish

And they wished for a root beer float
