Remove the snow from the fruit tress manual- ly by shaking them. Drain out excess water from the orchards by making drainage channels. Reduce the canopy of the fruit tree by pruning and provide support to the plants. If the trees are partially uprooted slowly back the trees to the original position after heavy pruning and provide proper support/ staking to the main trunk to prevent further fall/move- ment. Staking of the main trunks should be done in the opposite direction of the pullback to pre- vent further movement. If the top portion of the tree is broken, slanting cut the damaged branch 2-3 inches below the broken point and apply Bordeaux/ Chaubatia paste on the cut surface. If the scaffold branch is broken and bark is still intact. Bring the branch to the original position tying with a rope and/using stainless steel nails. Ensure that the union remains tight and apply Bordeaux/Chaubtia paste on the cut surface. If the roots have become exposed /naked immediately cover the roots with soil to avoid further damage. Fertilisation after the rescue would help stim- ulate growth. High rainfall can leach essential nutrients from the soil, which can affect plant health. Nutrients such as iron and nitrogen can be replaced through the use of fertiliser Trim tall fruit tree from tops and clear the branches near homes and cattle sheds. Remove the stagnated water from the straw- berry fields also. Replace the wet straw with dry straw from the strawberry fields to prevent the fruit if any from rottening. Maintain orchard sanitation by removing debris and damaged plant parts/twigs. Reliance Group has accused L&T Finance and Edelweiss Group entities of "illegal" and "motivated" actions in invoking the pledged shares of Anil Ambani group firms and sell- ing them in open market causing a steep fall in share values. L&T Finance and Edelweiss Group have refuted the allegations and have counter-alleged that Reliance Group failed to make timely payments, which they said necessitated sale of pledged shares.
