  • Following on from your predictions yesterday, can you carry on writing from the end of the story to describe what happens to the girl?

What might she do with the books? What might happen to her?Does she decide to write a book too?Does she go on an adventure?

You may want to write a short plan to help you with your writing, you could use some of your writing from this week and last week to help you. Try to aim to write at least one page!

  • Maths

For today’s maths task we have assigned you an area related activity on Doodle Maths.

You will need to login and have a go.

    https://www.doodlemaths.com/#! https://mathsframe.co.uk/en/resources/resource/77/itp-area

Usually when we look at area, we would ask you to make shapes with different areas. This is a little bit difficult to do at home as most of us don’t have squared paper.

However, I have found this interactive program that you could use instead. It allows you to make shapes on a squared background using little squares.

You can have a play around with it ( I will show you in the live lesson how it works) and then you could have a go at the questions on the next page. If you want you could screenshot, or a take picture of your work and send it to us on Teams. If you can’t don’t worry!

If it doesn’t work for you please don’t worry, just complete the doodle maths task.

  • Can you have a go at making capital letters on the program? You could have a go at doing your initials or letters from your name. See if you can keep the area of the shape to less than 20 squares.

Have a go at doing these activities on the interactive program.

  • PSHEFollowing on from Mrs Rennie’s assembly on thoughtfulness last week, we are going to think about what it means to be thoughtful.

•Watch this video of the story ‘The Last Stop on Market Street’ by Matt de la Peñahttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zk6CWvW_5-s&ab_channel=ABCReadtoME

•CJ and his Grandma visit a soup kitchen. What is a soup kitchen? Ask an adult in your house or use a dictionary to find out. Here is a link to an online dictionary if you need it https://kids.britannica.com/kids/browse/dictionary

•Being thoughtful means thinking of other people and helping them. Do you think CJ is being thoughtful by helping at the soup kitchen? Why do you think this?

    • Watch the story again and find 3 more examples of CJ or his Grandma being thoughtful from the book. You can write or draw what you find.

•Now, think about what CJ and his Grandma do to be thoughtful. How have you been thoughtful today?

Write or draw one thing you have already done and challenge yourself by coming up with three things you will do.
