The teacher models and guides the student readers through the strategies and skills of effec;ve reading comprehension. The teacher launches whole group, small group, or partnered conversa;on surrounding the Read Aloud Think Aloud text in order to make connec;ons between the text, the strategies, and the students’ worlds. The teacher provides modeling and direct instruc;on on reading skills, vocabulary terms, and elements of wri;ng. Students complete guided prac;ce ac;vi;es.
