Bonus Question - Grammar10-05-12
By placing the participial phrase “always swimming back and forth” directly after the noun “fish” which it is meant to modify, you have made it clear that the subject of “swimming” is “fish” rather than “Angela”. Remember that any introductory participial phrase modifies the subject of the main clause, unless the sentence makes it explicitly clear that it does not.

HEY SENIORS!
R U wanting money for college? It’s out there, but you have to work for it. The next few slides are about online scholarships which you could win. We have had CHS students win the Coca-Cola Scholars. Let’s have some CHS 2013 seniors winners.
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
If you've made a difference through volunteering over the past year, you could win $1,000 and a fabulous trip to Washington, D.C., next May by applying for a Prudential Spirit of Community Award! Even more importantly, you could win recognition that might inspire other young people to follow your example. These prestigious awards, sponsored by Prudential Financial and NASSP, have honored more than 100,000 middle and high school students at the local, state, and national level over the past 17 years solely for their volunteer work.
It’s easy to apply: Visit http://spirit.prudential.com or www.nassp.org/spirit, click on the “Apply Now” link, and follow the on-screen instructions. The CHS Guidance Office also has an application instruction sheet.
