Marien H. Antigua The Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management has a Function Hall Activity held at College Of Arts and Management at Cafeteria. For us to be successful with this function, we plan for the things we are going to use including the materials, suits and the steps on how to serve the guest. I also help in this activity, like doing the table skirting and the designing the chairs. I also help them in arranging the venue. All of us cooperate, contribute and work hard for this activity. We motivate each other by telling and doing that we should be done this successfully, because all of us craving for that. During the function, I can say that it was great even though some of us commit mistakes. Like in the way we prepare and serve, but at least we learn from that mistakes because our instructor teaches us too. When the function starts, every one of us was a little bit nervous and some of my experiences to this function is to greet the costumers in a proper manner. It also improve my personality development. I also enjoy myself to serve the guest because it feels like I was a real receptionist and a waiter. I am also observing what it will happen. I observe that some of my classmates forgot the steps on how to serve the guest. We are also commit mistakes, but I can say that it was okay to commit mistakes for us to learn more. One of my suggestion to this function is, it should be prepared well. Because it is not easy to conduct a function. But I am very grateful because having this Function Hall is a great opportunity for us students who was taking a Hotel and Restaurant Management, because we are giving a chance to experience to serve in a Fine Dining Restaurant.

Before we started the Function, we prepared first for the materials to be use

according to the theme we choose and how to set-up the venue for the type

of occasion we have choose for our Function which is a “Wedding”. For all of

our expenses everyone must contribute financially. In order that we can buy

flowers for our decorations, pins, thumbtacks, for the table skirting, for the

rents of the table cloths and for the food we eat. For this day it seems very

exciting, I have to prepare and be ready. So I prepared my white long sleeve

and black miniskirt that I wear. And that day of function before it start, we

had to prepare everything for the set-up. Everybody was be able to

cooperate in order to be done perfect in a short period of time. From

decorations, table skirting and for the arrangement of tables and chairs. And

when the time came for our Function I feel very nervous and use to think if I

can do it or not. To do my duty as a waitress for the costumer. But because I

have a strong faith I’ve done it very well with the help and cooperation of my

partner and especially of our team. The food they prepared for us are

delicious. Even though we are not good enough and needs more to practice

we tried our very best to do our part. It was a nice experience to have a

Function, we enjoyed and learned a lot from this.
