Nikon D7000 Configuration Worksheet & Setup Guide.2

HOW TO USE THESE WORKSHEETS - READ THIS FIRST !!
This worksheet allows you to record the configuration settings for your Nikon D7000 .
The tabs and menus have been laid out to match the Nikon D7000 as closely as is practical This allows for a logical flow and makes it much easier to follow.
The intent of this worksheet is to use it as a learning tool to better understand your Nikon D7000 and document the setting changes made in the menu system. It usually works best if you have the spreadsheet open with your camera and user's manual in front of you. Please use it anyway that works best for you.
Many photographers use "sets" of standard settings as a base for different types of shoot. I have included in this worksheet the ability to set-up 4 such settings (2 of which can be stored on the D7000 at any one time in the U1, U2 positions - additional "sets" can also be stored on memory cards and loaded when needed). The 4 sets are: "Travel & Landscape", "Portrait & Wedding", "Sports & Action" and "Point and Shoot". However the user can change any of these categories to suit his/her shooting preferences ("User Defined" option).
Select a cell and you can choose an option for that function from a pick-list specific to that function. Note the drop-down arrows at the right when you select this cell --->
When you select a drop-down item that is not the default, the setting will be highlighted in light yellow. This makes it obvious what you have changed and allows you to move quickly through the Nikon D7000 menu system to make your changes match the entries in the worksheet.
Gridlines have been turned OFF in these worksheets. You can turn them ON in the Excel Preferences View pane, under "Window Options".
Set up your menu choices using this worksheet. Then go to the camera (or Nikon Camera Control software) and set the camera menus to match the worksheet.
The new Nikon Picture Controls are too complex to easily integrate into the SHOOTING MENU sheet so they have their own separate sheet.
Nikon has made it possible to save the camera custom settings to a memory card (and computer). You can then modify the settings and revert to your saved settings without trying to remember what you changed. But beware - the settings file is erased if you format your memory card!
The original concept for this worksheet was developed on a Mac using NeoOffice 3.0.2. It has been tested on Windows Vista using Excel 2007. This entirely revised and updated version was created in Excel (2004) for Mac, Vs.11.6.2. A version comaptible with Apple's iWork - Numbers is available.

If you find any errors or have any suggestions please email them to:
This Version 2.0 has been completely revised by Christopher Oldham (User Name "chroaz" at Nikonians.org).It has been changed significantly with regard to content, formatting, programming and program functionality
V2.2.1: Added customizable "Shoot Type" headings on Shooting / Custom Settings Menu/ U1 & U2 tabsV2.2.2: Added Heading pop-up comments; corrected typos; minor menu & formatting changes / updates
Please note that I have chosen to release this worksheet unlocked. This allows anyone to make changes to the worksheet anyway they see fit. But, be careful not to delete or alter the cells containing the settings data or formulas inadvertently.
THE CUSTOMIZABLE SETTINGS SHOWN IN THIS WORKSHEET ARE ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY. THEY DO NOT CONSTITUTE ANY RECOMMENDATION BY THIS AUTHOR AS TO THEIR APPROPRIATENESS FOR
USE IN ANY PARTICULAR SHOOTING SITUATION. YOU SHOULD EXPERIMENT WITH YOUR OWN SETTINGS TO DETERMINE WHAT SUITS YOU, AND USE THIS WORKSHEET TO RECORD YOUR
PREFERENCES
This NEW version is specific to the Nikon D7000. It has been developed from an earlier version and has been inspired by the work of Nikonians Don McVey and Scott Winders on the Nikon D300.
V2.1 Beta: Added new U1 & U2 User Settings Tab. Other minor fixes and updates
V2.2 Beta: Corrected/Modified Custom Picture Controls pick-lists - formatting and other minor menu changes
