Special Education Remote Learning 2020-2021
● Special education students expected to engage in a minimum of 5 hours of learning during normal school day hours
● Case managers expected to contact parents and hold IEP meetings to update Remote Learning Plans from Spring of 2020
● Student IEP goals will be revised, updated and supported in a remote learning format
● Related Services staff will be expected to provide teletherapy services to students
Social Emotional Learning

Social Emotional Learning Supports● Remote Learning: Non-Negotiables
○ Focus on intentional SEL/relationship building component every day○ Design a virtual classroom management structure utilizing CHAMPS (Conversation, Help,
Activity, Movement, Participation and Success) and MAC (Movement, Activity, Conversation) supports
○ Engage in daily check-ins via classroom meetings, small groups, or other methods○ Engaged in daily closure to the end of the day by the teacher
● SEL Tiered Supports○ The district will be conducting an SEL needs assessment for individual students to determine
supports to be provided during remote learning○ The Student Services Department will be providing individuals with SEL and trauma responsive
resources and interventions to help support students during remote learning
