Meet Vicky Leyshon, head of design at D for diamond...

Tell us a bit about what you do at D for diamond I set the direction for the range in regards to theme and content, and work with the other designers here to translate a style into fun and wearable designs.

What’s the best bit about your job? Creating the concept for each new collection launch. Developing our woodland wonderland idea for this year was a particular highlight!

Anything you find challenging? It’s sometimes difficult getting delicate details and a diamond onto such small pieces.

In terms of design, do you play with the idea

that children enjoy browsing the collection, as well as the adult purchasing? Yes, I always imagine what a child’s favourite character or colour would be, in addition to what would make the loveliest christening gift!

Where do you draw your inspiration from? It’s usually patterns & colours initially, but I also love looking at children’s book covers - the artwork can be extraordinary.

What did you want to be when you were little? I really have no idea what I wanted to be, but I do remember always using my silver and gold crayons more than any others...so maybe that was a sign!

• All designs with a © symbol are original designs by our creative team.

• To emphasise the detail in our pieces, jewellery is shown larger than actual size.

• All D for diamond watches are made with Ion plated stainless steel onto a base metal which is nickel compliant.

• All D for diamond christening bangles are adjustable.

• All D for diamond 925 Silver jewellery is enhanced with rhodium plating.

• Where two lengths are stated (e.g. 14-16cm) the item is adjustable.
