Would you like to help a foster child?
Many �mes when a child is placed in foster care they show up with nothing more than
the clothes on their back. Our church family will collect items for the next two weeks to
be given to these children when they first arrive in foster care. Any items you can pro-
vide from the list below can be brought to the church and placed in the room across from
the Cafe.

A Word to Our Guests: Thank you for being in our worship this morning. We are honored that
you have chosen to worship with us and we look forward to knowing you. We ask that everyone
completes a Connect Card (even if just your name). We promise we will not show up at your
home unannounced, but we do want to connect with you. We encourage you to take advantage
of our nursery area, as well as our children and youth ministry. Check out the Small Group op-
�ons for adults as well. As you leave today stop and meet the pastor across from the café. We
have a giK for you!
Youth Flashlight Tag is Coming! TONIGHT is Flashlight Tag!!!! Guys bring a 2 liter, girls bring a
big bag of chips, and everyone needs dark, warm clothes and a flashlight. This is a GREAT event
to bring a friend. We will leave the church at 5pm to head to the farm, and return at 9pm for
you to pick your student up from here.
Youth Walk-a-Thon Sheets Available: If you'd like to par�cipate in the walk-a-thon fundraiser
please pick up a form from the info desk. The money your student raises will go directly into his
or her camp or Hai� account. The walk-a-thon is Sunday, Oct. 27th from 2-3pm in the church
parking lot. Youth Camp is June 11-14 and costs $265.
Trunk or Treat: Halloween is right around the corner and that means Trunk or Treat! This year,
Halloween falls on a Friday night, so Trunk or Treat could be huge. We need candy! There are
collection bins in the lobby.
Youth FALL RETREAT!!! Students in grades 6-12 are invited to a2end our Fall Retreat at Jona-
than Creek. We leave Friday Nov. 7th at 4pm and return Saturday the 8th at 5pm. The cost for
one student is $35. Two siblings are $55, and three siblings are $70 (buy two, get one free). To
register, please place your check in the payment box NO LATER THAN Sunday, Oct 26th. Please
write your student's name and adult t-shirt size in the memo por�on of the check.

Keeping the Faith in Schools is coming to Christian Coounty. Nov. 7th from 5:30-7PM is a 90 mi-
nute seminar, at Edgewood Baptist Church, that will equip parents to counter the negative ef-
fects of schools discouraging students from thinking about the world in religious ways. The ac-
tivity is free to the public. Christian County Middle School’s PACS auditorium will host a second
event on Nov. 8th. This professional development seminar for public school educators focuses
on how to address "Separation of Church and State" in the classroom. The cost is $20 by Oct.
24th. Registration begins at 8:30AM and the training concludes at 12:30PM. Space is limited.
