INTRODUCTION
PURPOSE OF THIS DOCUMENT
The purpose of this document is to present the progress achieved during the period
M13-M24 regarding the communication and dissemination activities in the
ACTTiVAte project. Communication & Dissemination activities are an essential
activity to ensure an access for all interested stakeholders to public reports and to
announce potential events where the project will be represented throughout the
project’s life. Promotion of project visibility through dissemination materials is a
basic tool to promote the project results and their various uses.
Furthermore KPIs are presented in order to measure the effectiveness of the
dissemination tools.
INTENDED AUDIENCE
The dissemination level of this document is public and therefore accessible to
ACTTiVAte partners, European Commission Services and the general public via the
ACTTiVAte website.
DOCUMENT STRUCTURE
The Communication & Dissemination activities in the ACTTiVAte project are carried
out within Work Package 7 (WP7): Communication, Dissemination & Sustainability
Plan.
The purpose of this deliverable is to present a brief report on the project
dissemination and communication activities that have been carried out during the
second year of the project (Jun 2017 through May 2018; M13-M24).
4
COMMUNICATION AND DISSEMINATION STRATEGY
A good communication strategy and a visibility plan is most for any project to
achieve its expected benefits. ACTTiVAte aims to develop an ambitious SME
supporting action to be implemented trough a transparent call fully open to
competition.
The essential stage that marks the main ACTTiVAte milestone is the call for SMEs and the
selection of the winning projects. From this milestone, it starts the process of financing and
providing services to the selected companies.
A second stage of the Communication and dissemination activities starts once the results of this
selection and the effects of the financing and services offered begin to be perceived. .
This deliverable, D7.7 SECOND REPORT ON COMMUNICATION AND DISSEMINATION
ACTIVITIES, focuses on the previous stages of the call, the description of the communication
actions undertaken, their impacts and results, during the second year of ACTTIVAte.

CONCLUSIONS AND LESSONS LEARNT FROM THE 2ND YEAR.
During this first year of ACTTiVAte we have found that it is necessary to strength
the communication activities with the Stakeholder community and enlarge the
scope of potential bidders.
Furthermore, we need to insist on the concept of cross-sectoral technology transfer.
SMEs often have doubts regarding the adaptability of their technology on another
sector and vice verse. Additional efforts will be done both at source and on the
destination level of any cross-sectoral technology for a better technology
implementation.
ACTTIVAte has identified an interesting field of work that basically consists in
strengthening the innovation ecosystem generated by ACTTiVAte. The idea is to
project beyond the project the model of trans-sectoral innovation generated,
including:
1. The process of identifying the most promising innovative cross-sectoral
technologies for the four selected sectors,
2. The methodology of self-limited bias of selection of companies and projects
by a panel of independent experts
3. The model of mentoring and business support for the selected companies
This Plan must contemplate its financial sustainability beyond the funds provided by
the EC for the project, which requires an action to identify stakeholders and their
incorporation into this model. This Sustainability Plan is in the design process and
will be subject to a specific deliverable
