NICF - Cisco CCNA Security (IINS)

Course Overview

Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA Security) validates associate-level knowledge and skills required to secure Cisco networks. With a CCNA Security certification, a network professional demonstrates the skills required to develop a security infrastructure, recognise threats and vulnerabilities to networks, and mitigate security threats. The CCNA Security curriculum emphasises core security technologies, the installation, troubleshooting and monitoring of network devices to maintain integrity, confidentiality and availability of data and devices, and competency in the technologies that Cisco uses in its security structure.

In this five-day course, you will learn about the design, implementation, and monitoring of a comprehensive security policy using Cisco IOS security features and technologies as examples. You will also learn about security controls of Cisco IOS devices as well as a functional introduction to the Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA). This course enables you to perform basic tasks to secure a network using Cisco IOS security features, which are available through web-based GUIs on the Cisco ASA, and the command-line interface (CLI) on Cisco routers and switches.

Site-to-site virtual private network (VPN) configuration is covered on both the Cisco IOS and the Cisco ASA. Modern malware examples are included in this course such as cryptographic techniques using stronger hashing and encryption algorithms. Current versions of Cisco IOS, Cisco ASA, and Cisco AnyConnect are featured.

Course Objectives

• Learn common network security concepts

• Secure routing and switching infrastructure

• Deploy basic authentication, authorization, and accounting services

• Deploy basic firewalling services

• Deploy basic site-to-site and remote access VPN services

• Manage advanced security services such as intrusion protection, content security and identity

• Develop a comprehensive network security policy to counter threats against information security

• Configure routers with Cisco IOS software security features, including management and reporting functions

• Bootstrap the Cisco ASA Firewall for use in a production network

• Configure the Cisco ASA Firewall for remote access to a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) VPN

• Configure a Cisco IOS zone-based firewall (ZBF) to perform basic security operations on a network

NICF - Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

Course Overview

Since 1978, the ISACA® Certified Information Systems Auditor® (CISA®) program has been the globally accepted standard of achievement among information systems (IS) audit, control and security professionals. The technical skills and practices that CISA promotes and evaluates are the building blocks of success in the field. Possessing the CISA designation demonstrates proficiency and is the basis for measurement in the profession.

This five-day course will prepare participants to sit for the CISA certification examination.

Course Objectives

• Gain a comprehensive, up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of the five job practice domains

Domain 1 – The Process of Auditing Information Systems

Domain 2 – Governance and Management of IT

Domain 3 – Information Systems Acquisition, Development and Implementation

threats, regulatory requirements, and other cybersecurity issues facing their organisations and their customers

NICF - Cisco CCNA Cyber Ops Part 1: Understanding CiscoCybersecurity Fundamentals (SECFND)

Course Overview

The CCNA Cyber Ops certification program provides a valuable first step in acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to work with a Security Operations Center (SOC) team, and can be a valuable part of beginning a career in the exciting and growing field of cybersecurity operations.

Because static/fixed security controls cannot catch 100 percent of cybersecurity threats and issues, SOC teams provide a critical part of an organisation’s protection—investigating information security threats, and detecting and responding to incidents in real-time. Due to the increased number of cybersecurity related jobs, organisations continue to struggle with finding or developing cybersecurity talent, and are paying a premium for qualified individuals who can fill those roles.

The Cisco CCNA Cyber Ops certification program provides practical, relevant, and job-ready certification curricula aligned closely with the specific tasks expected of these in-demand professionals. Cisco realises that Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst increasingly must focus on design, configuration, and support responsibilities as the technical consultant and device specialist or expert on a security team. Therefore, the Cisco Security curriculum is specific to the best practices of network security administrators, engineers, and experts using the latest Cisco equipment, devices, and appliances.

• Configure site-to-site VPNs using Cisco IOS features

• Configure security features on IOS switches to mitigate various Layer 2 and Layer 3 attacks

• How a network can be compromised using freely available tools

• Implement line passwords, and enable passwords and secrets

• Examine authentication, authorisation, and accounting (AAA) concepts and features using the local database as well as Cisco Secure ACS 5.2

• Configure packet filtering on the perimeter router
