aren’t familiar with imaging

INTRODUCTION
Wanting to implement a computer lab or cyber café type environment
Researched freeware similar to Synmatec Ghost and Deep Freeze Clonezilla and SteadyState
Also, Virtual Box

PROBLEM STATEMENT
Computer labs have high traffic A lot of chances for viruses,
spyware, malware, etc Updates can sometime mess up
system functionality Need a solution to help lower
downtime and

PROPOSED SOLUTION Possible solutions to these problems:
Prevent users from downloading or visiting possible attacking sites
Use of Deep freeze / Steady state to revert any changes that are made
If a manual update to the computer from a trusted website cause hardware or software conflicts
Use of imaging to prevent lengthy downtime

DEEPFREEZE
Deepfreeze prevents new programs or files to be installed on the harddrive unless you allow access to certain folders
Can allow updates for operating system, anti-virus, etc at a certain time of day

CONCLUSIONS
Results are very apparent over time Use of Synmatec Ghost/Deepfreeze
over Clonezilla/Steadystate is probably more likely in a business
Also practical for a family computer Imaging is the way to go in a
computer lab or cyber café environment
