Summary of CV

This section describes briefly a summary of your career in science, academic and research; themain scientific and technological achievements and goals in your line of research in the medium-and long- term. It also includes other important aspects or peculiarities.

Dr. Pérez Ruiz acquired her university education mainly focused on classical archaeology,with high undergraduate grades in History (3.06 out of 4) and one-year undergraduate stay inRome with an Erasmus grant. During her PhD work, she specialized in the Roman domesticspace and its religious manifestations in Hispania and throughout the Roman world. Her PhDdissertation was qualified with summa cum laude unanimously and mention of Europeandoctorate (13 publications derived from it).Her postgraduate studies were supported by fellowships, standing out a four-year doctoral one(FPU fellowship from the Spanish MEC) that allowed her to carry out her research in Spainand renowned foreign centers (Deutsches Archäologisches Institut in Berlin, Università dellaSapienza di Roma). During this period, she was able to create a network of contacts withresearchers from other countries, which was increased in the postdoctoral period with otherinstitutions, most notably the Cambridge University.As a result of her research work she has published 8 articles in journals, a book (Al amparode los Lares), 13 chapters in books and has acted as editor or co-editor in five books.She has also participated in national (6) and international (7) conferences, outstanding theSOMA, AIAC and Tarraco Biennial; likewise she has organized two research seminars andgiven talks and divulgation lectures.She is currently a postdoctoral researcher attached to the Catalan Institute of ClassicalArchaeology as part of its research team "Archaeometry and Artistic Productions (ArPA)" andto the consolidated research group "Glances on the Antique Mediterranean. Occident to Orient,from the Early History to Late Antiquity (MIRMED / GIAC)". She is also currently a member ofthe research team " Marmora Hispaniae. Exploitation, use and dissemination of the Espejónlimestone in Roman Hispania and Late Antiquity".She has taught at UAM as lecturer on various subjects of Archeology and Art History (103hours) and has acted as coordinator of a course. She is currently assistant professor atthe Universidad Isabel I de Castilla, where she teaches on-line courses of the degree inHistory and Geography and of the Master on High School Teacher Training, and acts assupervisor of TFG and TFM practical works (36 ECTS until present). She has participated asa visiting lecturer at graduate and postgraduate courses and seminars, organized by severaluniversities (Cambridge University, UNED, CEU) and research centers (CSIC). She hasimproved her teacher training by following specific courses. She has obtained accreditationsas Assistant Teacher-Doctor (2012), Contracted Professor-Doctor (2015) and Professor ofPrivate University (2015) by the Spanish ANECA.She has worked in historic divulgation as a coordinator of two exhibitions and currentlyshe is the assistant curator at the exhibition "Scipio: Rome conquered Hispania" (RegionalArchaeological Museum of Madrid, to be opened in February 2016).Currently she is interested in household space and life in Roman times as a whole andparticularly on related beliefs. The work on this research subject, in coordination with otherresearchers, aims to understanding this space in its complexity of familiar, social and

ideological messages from the archaeological materiality. In order to consolidate a researchteam devoted to this topic, a scientific meeting was organized last autumn at the UNED.

Relevant results: In Roman Spain, as in other areas of the Roman world, the domestic cult is a substantial areaof study to obtain a deeper knowledge of the domestic domain. The analysis of the domestic cult provides richinformation about the value of the aristocratic house as a space of social scope and, thus, of the relation betweenpublic and private spaces. Relevant results: Cult images, portable altars, oil lamps and many other types of objects were part of thehousefurnishings used in the lararia for the celebration of the domestic rites in the Roman period. An analysis ofthis material culture is carried out in this paper, in the Roman world as a whole –with the main reference of theVesuvian cities-, and more specifically in the Roman provinces Baetica and Tarraconensis. The material culture suggests that, there was a transitional period of coexistence and mixing oftraditions and that, since approximately the second half of the 1st century BC, prevailed the Roman ones.
