· Plan and organise to support the effective and efficient delivery of brokerage service activities and improvement in outcomes for children, such as establishing eligibility for a 2 year old early education place by following the online checking procedure, tracking take-up of places, or brokering apprenticeships in the childcare sector.

· Plan and carry out surveys and evaluations including feedback from parents who have used the brokerage service. Identify issues and barriers to placements, resolve straightforward issues by informing colleagues of practitioner training needs. Providing information online to encourage placement.

· Research and provide authoritative information, advice and assistance to colleagues, parents/carers and stakeholders and promote understanding of the benefits of high quality early education. Investigate and respond to customer complaints/ enquiries such as identification of local place vacancies and options.

· Prepare easy to understand information sheets, articles, reports and materials to support and promote access to early education via e-bulletins, presentation at network meetings, in person and on the Early Years Website.

· Assess situations/ problems; liaise with partner agencies to implement creative bespoke solutions to enable a child to take up an early education place and to engage the family with other agencies that support healthy lifestyles, good parenting and home learning..

· Manage caseloads for School Admissions in Buckinghamshire.

· Customer service involving face to face email and telephone based communication was a vital skill to practice in this role.

· Liaising with schools, professionals and parents regarding school places, transport and waiting lists. Keeping to deadlines set by the government and ensuring that all numbers and information in county Schools are correct and up to date.

· Organise the administration of the transfer tests to grammar schools in Buckinghamshire. Researching and collating information from databases running the relevant reports.
