Assistant to teaching Professional at Hagley Golf Club and Stafford Golf Academy, of disabled golf (March 2013 to January 2016)

Involved assisting and coaching children at the early stages of their participation in golf.

Provided experience of adaptation, growth and development in a relevant work environment. Working with younger girls with‘beginners’ ability, provided confidence knowing they looked up

to me as inspiration for their golf.

Assisted a Professional teaching disabled golf at Hagley golf and country club (March 2013 to December 2014). This involved helping to coach children of all disabilities and age groups. Worked with the Professional to run coaching sessions which allowed development of

leadership skills. Experience of listening and then providing appropriate advice in a sporting environment. Using adaptation skills to suit the needs of those that find concepts of the golf swing a challenge.

Shadowed health and fitness classes at the exercise prescription centre, Worcester - (2015)

This experience showed the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Provided an opportunity to identify and develop strategies to enhance the health of individuals

who are physically challenged.

Working in a programme called SHAPE (April 2016- present). The programme is aimed at individuals with clinical problems (high blood pressure, bone

diseases.) The role involves supporting and monitoring individuals technique throughout exercise, enabling

support mechanisms for encouragement and motivation.

Achieved level 2 fitness instructor qualification. This qualification will facilitate accessing future qualifications towards my career pathway. Delivering fitness programmes to gym users. Aiming to achieve level 3 exercise referral post September.

Attending Camp Canada for 9 weeks from June to August 2016. Interacting with children at a summer camp (aged 7-16). The role of a general counsellor- Taking care of the children, getting involved in regular physical

activity, sports, arts and crafts.

Other activities and interests

Sport; Golf and speedway. Currently play and have played sport at a high level; England and county level. Regular Gym user. Reading novels on exercise prescription and coaching strategies.

Future aspirations:I have a very strong interest in pursuing a career within the health industry. With experience of coaching and interacting with physically and mentally impaired individuals, has enhanced my desire to work within rehabilitation or health and fitness.
