PERSONAL TESTIMONY

I was born on the Air Force base in Montgomery, AL into a Christian family. Although I can never

remember a time when I did not believe in Jesus, I made a formal profession of faith in 1985 and was

baptized shortly thereafter. Once my dad got out of the Air Force, he received his Bachelor’s degree

from Tennessee Temple University and his Master’s degree from Maryland Baptist Bible College. We

then moved to Wisconsin when I was a teenager. I attended the University of Wisconsin where I majored

in trumpet performance and Northland International University where I majored in pastoral studies and

biblical languages. It was during these years that I became more and more certain that God was calling

me to enter pastoral ministry as well as became

convinced of the doctrines of grace. Between my junior

and senior year, I did an internship in Taiwan under a

missionary helping him to plant a church in the city of

Kaohsiung, Taiwan. After college, I returned to Taiwan

where I served as a missionary taking the missionary’s

place as he returned to the States to continue his

education. When my visa ran out, I returned to the states

to work as a teaching elder in a reformed Baptist church

in Wisconsin. While serving in Wisconsin, I married

Heather, an NIU alum, before becoming convinced of

paedobaptism and Presbyterian polity. Heather and I

moved our membership to Bible Presbyterian Church, a

PCA church of the Wisconsin Presbytery and eventually

came under care of the Wisconsin Presbytery. In 2013,

my wife and I moved to Jackson in order to pursue a

Master of Divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary.

Both my wife and I love reading, the outdoors, and making

music.
