ProfileI am a naturally analytical person with excellent communication and social skills. I have worked closely
with others and independently in some very challenging circumstances to help achieve positive
outcomes for all stakeholders.
I am now seeking to transfer the skills I have developed in education forward towards a new challenge.
Having spent much of my career involved in information technology, assessment, testing and reporting
I have started studying for the ISTQB-BCS Foundation qualification and have booked the exam for the
30th of July.

Bridge Achievement Centre (formally Cylchdroi Centre) January 2011 to present
My main responsibilities were to:
• Design testing and assessment procedures for pupils who were having difficulties in school
• Implement the testing following the agreed test design flow chart
• Analyse the result and follow the agreed upon testing procedure to select new tests
• Prepare reports on the results of the testing giving detailed and practical advice as to how best help
the pupil succeed
• Carry out follow up testing to ensure that the strategies are working and that no new issues have
been brought to light
• Responsible for first aid at work (course completed through Newport City Council Feb 2016)
• In addition I taught Science, PE, Photography and Forest Schools
Outreach Teacher Maes Ebbw January 2010 - December 2010My main responsibilities were to provide guidance and advice to schools on a range of special educational needs issues from behaviour management to autism.
In addition to this I helped school resource bases develop their assessment needs and their testing and recording systems to help them ensure they were allocating their resources in their planning to ensure that they were operating as effectively as possible.

My main responsibilities were to:
• Provide guidance and advice to schools on a range of special educational needs (SEN) issues with particular reference to social emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD).
• Deliver a range of client-focussed training, which enhances the capabilities of the schools to cater for pupils with SEN such as SEBD, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autistic Spectrum Condition.
• Help meet the targets set out in statements of SEN by supporting teaching staff in developing appropriate Individual Education Plan and Individual Behaviour Plans, direct teaching, evaluating the effectiveness of such programmes and modifying as necessary.
In addition to this I have been tasked to help develop the systems and structures of several special
resource bases attached to mainstream schools. Activities include:
• Design planning and assessment procedures
• Design behaviour recording and reporting system to assess pupil’s behaviour in lessons.

I implemented numerous initiatives to raise standards following an ESTYN inspection (April 2008) in time for Her Majesties Inspectorate re-inspection These measures include; designing a curriculum overhaul to include Mathematics and English Entry Level and GCSE qualifications; planning and assessment procedures; positive behaviour management including a data recording and reporting system; attendance strategies and procedures; risk assessments and embedding Key Skills and Basic Skills into the curriculum.
