For the streaming department @ NSI/Belgacom, I’m the developer of automation systems, and surveyance modules.

I write tools for the company by which the employees are informed automatically of malfunctioning modules like ‘Windows Media Servers”, etc.

An automated scheduling procedure has been written for the European Council, in order to schedule automated streaming jobs, and to publish them onto the net.

CEU – Automation of the encoding based on a planning tool Automation of streaming platforms, and back office tools. Creation of Multiple bit streams with multiple audio layers. I developed plug-ins for the Darwin servers (Linux & windows), to avoid un authorized

access from different ip’s (a so called IP2Location protection). I upgraded the helix servers with the same functionality.

I developed the back office for the CMS (Content Management System) to start/Stop, archive streams. An automation process for stream with the VRT, so that the daily journal is streamed automatically during noon ours.

Developed software to archive and check streams coming from the festivals. So that customers of belgacom can receive a better quality then the customers from Telenet.

The latest project was a SaaS project. The project delivers the final customers the possibility to activate, configure and archive their streams by the help of a web-interface. Behind a complete structure of software related to WCF, Sql Assembly’s c# ‘Triggers’ and LINQ is created. So that the complete environment is .Net 3.5 compliant. The customer’s interface has been developed in Silverlight.

I was analyst-developer for every project. The team, in which I worked, had only 2 developers. I was the person, which had the lead. On request of the management and the customers, I did the analyses (Functional and Technical design), the development and the unit/integration tests. Every analyses, is written in Word with the help of Visio for the UML and other graphical designs.

The companies like “Belgomilk – Milcobel”, “Advalvas Software”, “Faurecia Industries”, “Seeber”, “Vyncolit” are customers of ESO SPRL.

I created software for touch screen applications. The software is based on an XML-layout file. The file describes the screen-layout, a multi-tier application by the help of remoting is developed to serve the different client applications..

The software I am finishing for the moment is for an automated packaging, and transport system. I created the overseeing software together with the PLC program, which controls the transport conveyors’.

The software contains standard socket development, development of additional components and own environments and domain spaces.

Most of their customers are in the automotive and food branch. The software stores his information in an OLTP database, on daily bases an OLAP

database is filled up. The daily script generates the cubes, which are accessible through Excel and HTML.

At the end of the mission, we started with the usage of Business Objects to maintain the flows and to control the production processes.

For Advalvas, I developed a new release of the comfort card software for a C-Zam Smash Terminal.

My company has a package “HORECA : HOEL” The product exists already but was developed with MFC and C++ under a MS-Access

database. I modified the complete concept to work with PDA (Rel. 2003), ASP.NET and the GUI of DOT.NET with data-aware components and web-services. The web service delivers the interface to the database and windows forms.

The customer is able to introduce his stock by the help of the Application on site, or by the help of the ASP.NET pages. The ASP pages must be used in next phase to order articles through the net. The company is a software developer for the Belgian market. I developed software based on the analyse I made myself, the team I had, consisted of

The product has been delivered and is in acceptance test at my leaving. We developed a part on IE 6.0, with a IIS, and ASP. The other part has been developed in Delphi 6, with ADO in a N-tier environment, with an MS-SQL Database. The website consists of ActiveX components and several DCom Servers. After this project we created a complete setup with Cubes, Multiple Fact-tables/Dimensions a reporting tool for the management. The tool helps the management to select which movie will be shown in which theatre.

On a project for FVB, I developed the follow-up of problems with the customers of FVB. The tool kept data from the To-Do’s, TASK, Phone calls, etc. into a SQL database.

I trained customers in ASP, Java Scripting and VB Scripting. I used ADO and Dcom objects in an internet environment for the kinepolis group. I instructed customers in C++ Builder. During the free-time I studied C#, ASP.NET, ADO.NET

Project managers. Leading and planning of a complete group of developers on a project “Release 2.1/NT”. The project 2.1/NT consisted of making the analyses for the developers, the study of the complete project with his modifications (Change Requests).

During the complete project, it was also the first time that Proton World International Used, Continuus as project/source tool. I was responsible to create the different tasks (sub-tasks) to the developers, the developer did the unit-test, while the“Build Manager” (continuus term, and that was my responsibility) did the integration tests of the different tasks. When a task was badly developed or faulty, a fix task was created. After this procedure the software went to the test-team.

This team was responsible for the testing, I did the coaching of that team, while my developers team was reduced to a third of the beginning. The testers, creates Problem Reports, as coach, I was responsible to review those PR’s and if accepted to deliver them to a developer in a Task form.

Once the task is finished, I integrate them in the complete sources, did the integration tests and deliver them to the test-team on regular base. I was responsible for the planning of this project as also for the budget allocated to it.

Project for customers where based on another topic. I did the analyses with the client, (the point was to see the customisations on our standard releases). Once those customisations where defined, I started the developers group, where I added myself in, by lack of developers/analysts. I planned, the complete modifications, starting from the analyse, the development, the unit-tests, the integration test, the acceptance test done by our test-team in coaching of myself, the delivery (installations done in the USA, In Nigeria, At Dexia, In South Africa, In Ivory Coast, …). Seen the fact I was member of the CS-department (Customers Services), we were also responsible for the good delivery, the follow up of the projects after we delivered them up as the maintenance/bug fixing.

At customer’s side, I installed the complete package and fine tuned the Tuxedo

I installed the different queues and updated the configuration parameters to receive the best performance. We used tuxedo as transactional manager. The queues were filled in by a process and to be sure that the transaction (payment/load) was completed till the end, we used tuxedo. On tuxedo we used different queues and queue spaces, based on the message type we triggered different functionality in the processes;

For a New project “Vietnam”, we needed to prepare the release 2.1 for a UNIX (Solaris) environment. Therefore I started working with Linux (Redhat) in cluster with an Oracle Database. Exceed was used to do X-windows Emulation on the PC environment. The company has an IBM-Unix machine and a Compaq. The standard Unix commands are far from unknown to me. To access, the Tandem System, we used a terminal emulator, with the TTY protocol. Most of the time we needed to connect our servers on a TCP/IP network with a different IP-address or group, to eliminated intruders. Seen the fact we worked with a security module (DEP), we had two network cards and a separate network. The DEP, were in the beginning only available with X25 – HDLC protocol, afterwards we could receive DEP’s with a TCP/IP Protocol. Data download to the clients through ftp. The use of a telnet session is the least we could use. In the happiest cases, we used remote desktop of McAfee or PC Anywhere.

It was contract of almost 4 years.

After the study’s, I was hired at Praxial as an Employee, I worked on cashdraw systems for companies like “Moterest, more known : Quick, RestoGB, PizzaHut”, ADS-Anker, Lekkerland, Imog, and so on.

The company Praxial has been taken over by Jurinco, and during that year the Belgian army needed my services, were I was settled at the “Etat Major” at Kohln, in the IT department.

During my military service, the firm Jurinco went broke, just like Praxial, and I decided to create my own company, in the first place to help the customers of the company Praxial and Jurinco.
