1.Find out a bit about the BBC Drama “Cutting It” What genre is it? Does the extract give an indication of genre?

“ Cutting It” follows the traumatic life of a hair dresser called Alice Henshall. Which includes her relationships with her lovers, her rivals and her dysfunctional family.

“Cutting It” is a drama series. The extract does indicate the genre because it is very dramatic and real life like.

audience?

The MICRO feature I was looking at was Dialogue . Dialogue generates meaning to the extract by: Realistic dialogue showing different aspects of their relationship over lapping speech conversation constructing aspects of characters’ personality Creating atmosphere using a script.

3. Who is in control of the scene: Man or Woman?

I think that the woman is in control of the scene. I think this because from the beginning she says most of the dialogue and puts her opinions across first. Also she leads the storyline as she chose to see her consultant and the accident wouldn’t of happened if she didn’t.
