Product Description —Sizes 00-4ApplicationMagnetic contactors are used toswitch transformers and capacitorsand to control electrical power circuitssuch as heating, lighting and motorsthat require no overload protection, orwhere overload protection is sepa-rately provided. They can be operatedremotely by manual or automatic pilotdevices.

Class A201 Contactors, Sizes 00-4;Three-Phase, 1-1/2 -100 hpA201 magnetic contactors are 600Vrated devices available in NEMA Sizes00-4,10Athrough 150A(open rafing).Product features include:

• Straight-through wiring to line andload terminals located up front forease of installation.

• Moving and stationary contacts are. front accessible, simplifying inspec-

tion and maintenance.• Reliable U-shaped magnet for

reduced power consumption.• Coil design reduces inventory/main-

tenance expenses. For a given volt-age, one size coil fits all contactorsSizes 00 - 2, and a second coil fitsthree-pole Model J Sizes 3 and 4.Model K coils are different design.

A201 contactors have normally openholding circuit interlocks which aresupplied as standard.

Panel layout and drilling are simplifiedthrough the use of common backplates,one for Sizes 00-2 and one for Sizes3 - 4. In addition, panel space isreduced dramatically through the useof unique corner cavities for mountingthe wide variety of modificationsshown on Page 33-133.

For reversing applications, two contac-tors are supplied on a common basewith electrical and mechanical inter-locks which prevent both contactorsfrom being closed at the same time.

A201 contactors are UL listedcomponents and also have CSAcertification.
