ACQUITY UPLC® Binary Solvent Manager

(BSM) lets you enhance the capabilities of

your current system by taking advantage

of the benefits offered by the installation

of the i2Valve.

The i2Valve incorporates a powered actuator

that allows the use of a stronger return

spring to help ensure positive closing of the

inlet check valve during priming. It delivers more robust operation when pumping viscous solvents

or salt buffers that present challenges for traditional inlet check valves. It also reduces priming and

system start up times.

The i2Valve offers a significant advance in liquid chromatography solvent delivery system technology

and represents Waters’ commitment to continuous product improvement. The i2Valve capability is

now standard with all new ACQUITY UPLC BSMs.

A Waters-certified Field Service Engineer is required to install the ACQUITY UPLC BSM

i2Valve Enhancement Kit and to test the system to ensure proper operation. Installation and

system testing take approximately four hours. This labor charge is not included in the kit price.

Requalification service is not necessary for this type of enhancement. Based on your Standard

Operating Procedures (SOPs), Waters SystemsQT™ automated qualification service is available for

an additional charge.

Note that the kit is designed to enhance ACQUITY UPLC BSM Systems that are i2Valve-ready.

These systems were manufactured from January 2007 through June 2007, with a serial

number between A07UPB573M–f07UPB573M.
