(Project Leader) 2. Sistem Ujian Berkomputer (SUB) (Computerized Testing System for Highway Code Testing), 1995 (Project

Leader) Note:

(i) Acting as Project Leader, the above two (2) softwares were developed and marketed nationwide to all Malaysian Driving Institutes (MDIs) (1995-2000). SLUB software was developed for the Minsitry of Transport (Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan) (JPJ) Malaysia and downloaded at registered Driving Institutes in Malaysia. Over a period of six (6) years (1995-2000), a total of 624 licenses were sold nationwide at a price of RM1,200 per license. TOTAL SALE: RM748,800.00 (RM: Seven hundred forty eight thousand and eight hundred only).

(ii) The Sistem Ujian Berkomputer (SUB) software was developed for the Minsitry of Transport (Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ) Malaysia and downloaded at registered Driving Institutes in Malaysia to support the computerized learning of highway code (SLUB) and served to the communication protocal of JPJ Testing Division (Bahagian Ujian).

(iii) The launching of the above products was made on the 15 November 1996 and a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by the Vice Chancelor on behalf of USM and the Director General of Transport on behalf of JPJ at Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Negeri Malacca, and witnessed by the Hon. Minister of Transport, YB Dato’ Seri Ling Liong Sik.

Status: Project Leader Client: Transportation Department (Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan, JPJ), Ministry of Transport, Malaysia Project description: 1. Acting as Project Leader, extensive discussions and negotiations were held between the Transport Department

Headquarters (Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan, JPJ), Minsitry of Transport Malaysia, Driving Institutes (DIs), and the University. Discussions between the first 2 parties involved the design requirements to suit and to offer an alternative to the present manual testing methodology (the mannual Highway Code Testing) while discussion with the University includes the pricing and installation of softwares scheduling strategies, and that led to the eventual signing of the MOU between USM and JPJ.

2. The SLUB software was developed and marketed nationwide to all Malaysian Driving Institutes (DIs) (1995-2000).

SLUB software was developed for the Minsitry of Transport (Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan) (JPJ) Malaysia and downloaded at registered Driving Institutes (DIs) in Malaysia including Sabah and Sarawak.

3. Over a period of six (6) years (1995-2000), a total of 624 licenses were sold nationwide at a price of RM1,200.00

per license. TOTAL SALE: RM748,800.00 (RM: Seven hundred forty eight thousand and eight hundred only).

4. Besides the development of the Sistem Ujian Berkomputer (SUB) software downloaded at registered Driving

Institutes in Malaysia and was intended to support the computerized learning of highway code (SLUB) and served to the communication protocal of JPJ Testing Division (Bahagian Pengujian).

5. SUB was developed free of charge (based on agreement between both parties) and served as the testing

software while candidates got their training through the use of SLUB software. 6. The above products were launched on the 15 November 1996 and a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was

signed by the Vice Chancelor on behalf of USM and the Director General of Transport on behalf of JPJ at Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Negeri Malacca, witnessed by the Hon. Misister of Transport, YB Dato’ Seri Ling Liong Sik.
