Client: Commune de Grand - SyntheYear: 2012 - present

Text In the nineties a temporary forest was planted at the edge of subur-ban Grand-Synthe. Client: Municipality of Vlissingen Year: 2008-2010

The park is used intensively and has pubs around it. OKRA’s plan pro-poses to fringe the park with outdoor cafés that extend right up to the former quays. At the centre of the park there is an open area, referring to the historic harbour. Greenery is concentrated along a promenade with trees to the west. This leaves the centre area clear for events.

Role: Project manager during the design stages and design supervisor throughout the whole process. His work involved also extensive public consultation and stakeholder communication. His role was to lead the creative team towards an innovative park design, and to convince all of the conventional stakeholders to go along with these major changes.
