Andile Andries Ndlovu is a

social and economic developer, an

upcoming academic in literature, a

skilled leader who has headed vast

organisational institutions, and an

aspiring business man. Andile

originates in Cottonlands,

(Mahlabatini) which is an underdeveloped area. Andile commenced with his

junior grades in Umdloti Primary School and then did his secondary grades in

Verulam Secondary School up until he completed his grade twelve in 2011.

Thereafter he enrolled at University of KwaZulu Natal Howard College to attain

his junior degree in Bachelor of Arts majoring in English studies (Language &

Literature) and Culture and Heritage Tourism. Whilst Andile was in Primary

school and Secondary he established vast number of leadership and discipline

organisations as results he was elected as the Chairperson of Prefects at

primary school; in secondary school he was elected as the president of the

RCL’s. He is the initiator of Disciplinary committee and the Christian organisation

at Verulam Secondary School. At tertiary level Andile was elected at first year

as the Chief class representive. In 2013 he ran for the SRC elections where he

was appointed as part of the tertiary student representative. Andile is also a

skilled teacher who has held teaching post(s) as a tutor at tertiary level and in

some social platforms. Andile served as a tutor at KA-LANGA Pre-University

Academy which is headed by Dr Elijah Mkhatshwa where he taught English

Home Language (Literature and Language). Andile has also served as a

voluntarily tutor at University of KwaZulu Natal at the English department in

teaching the first years proper construction of essays and use of language.

Andile has also voluntarily assisted grade twelve learners coming from

underdeveloped areas like Cottonlands with their academic work in various fields

of study such as History, Geography, IsiZulu and English. Andile has worked

with various academics at the University in research; firstly he worked with

Professor Sabine Marshall a renowned academic in the Tourism discipline to

conduct journalism research at the eNanda tourism destination; during that year

he got involved in the literature research project that dealt with writing

biographies of authors and conducting interviews. In 2013 Andile engaged in

research with Professor Sultan Khan in compiling a book titled “Undressing

Durban” where he played a tremendous role in the construction of quantitative

research methodology. Andile has also served as Academic & Transformation

Officer in an established student organisation ‘Student Christian Fellowship.

Andile Ndlovu is renowned as a hard working determined individual who works

tirelessly in achieving what he desires however he also strongly believes on

social and economic development for the emancipation of those who are still

drastically saturated by the past imbalances, In conclusion Andile is the great

emphasiser of the significant of education in the theoretical and practical

perspective.
