Principal Investigator – In November 2013, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation awarded a grant of US$581,162 for the project “The Impact of Fiscal Policy on Inequality and Poverty in Low-income Countries: Applying the Commitment to Equity (CEQ) Framework to Ghana and Tanzania,” (February 1, 2014-January 31, 2016).

Principal Investigator -- Current research project “Commitment to Equity: An Analysis of the Impact of Fiscal Policy on Inequality and Poverty in Latin America” has received funding from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Corporación Andina de Fomento (CAF), General Electric Foundation, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (through Inter-American Dialogue), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) and the World Bank.

Other projects under my leadership covering poverty, inequality, the Mexican economy, NAFTA, social protection and the social impacts of economic crises have received funding from the Ford Foundation, Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Macarthur Foundation, National Council of Science and Technology Mexico (CONACYT), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and World Bank.
