RESEARCHINTERESTS:PlantBiotechnologyMy research program currently focuses on several areas of biotechnology/molecular biology inhigher plants.We use combination of techniques for in vitromorphogenesis, tissue culture,masspropagationandgenetictransformationinplantsofeconomicimportanceandcharacterizationofplants using molecular markers and flow cytometry. Encapsulation of plant propagules forgermplasmconservation,storageandexchange.
Recently,wehavebeguntoinvestigatethecomparativetranscriptomeofpotentialmedicinalplantstoidentifygenesinvolvedinbiosynthesisofsecondarymetabolites.
My research also includes the interaction of nanoparticles and xenobioticswith plants and theirtoxicologicaleffectsandmechanismofinteractionatcellularandmolecularlevelsinediblecrops.
