1 - Key Qualifications and Responsibilities (CV Summary)
The Author has completed seven years of experience in the field of
Structural Analysis and Design of Bridges and Hydraulic-related
structures, working in Europe (Italy) and in The Middle East (mainly
in the Sultanate of Oman).
He is currently working as Principal Bridge Design Engineer
coordinating and supervising design reports and technical drawings
while interacting with the Client (Ministry of Transportation of Oman)
and Resident Engineers of the Main Contractors during construction
activities. He makes sure that the delivered designs are both
structural and economically sound, with respect to the wide range of
feasible alternatives, by managing the structural design process from
inception to the final submission.
Furthermore, he has the opportunity to frequently visit construction
sites, acquiring a direct experience on the main aspects concerning
the designed structures, as well as, to understand the problems that
can emerge during every construction stage.
All the following listed structures have been first designed using
hand calculation procedures (closed-form solutions and first
principles) and then optimized by implementing realistic finite
element models to predict the final structural behavior under all
loading conditions.
Structures have been mainly designed according to AASHTO LRFD code of
practice. English is the main used language for oral communications
and for the preparation of technical reports.
