Software development:
Developed POPPROJ, a model to project stochastic population dynamics and extinction of stage-
structured populations. In collaboration with Pedro Quintana-Ascencio, produced a new release
of a model to project stochastic population dynamics of stage-structured populations. The original
model (POPPROJ, produced by Menges in the late 1980's) is being used by several dozen
researchers. New versions (POPPROJ2 and POPPROJ3) handle more alternative matrices and
Menges CV---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Page 8 of 26
produces additional statistics. A modification (DISTPROJ) models population dynamics in a
disturbance/recovery environment.
