I. RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Extensive research experience in the field of insect physiology and insect pest control
with reference to
Breeding and maintenance of Dysdercus cingulatus, Spilosoma obliqua , Spodoptera litura,
Corcyra cephalonica, Helicoverpa armigera and Drosophila melanogaster
Application of Ecdysteroids, Juvenoids, Organophosphates, Carbamates, Organ chlorines,
Pyrethroids, and plant extracts by oral administration and topical/contact fumigation methods.
Observations on the effects of these chemicals on growth, moulting, metamorphosis and
reproduction.
Preparing solvent extracts from plants and assessing larvicidal and IGR activity.
Anatomical and histological studies of nervous system of Drosophila melanogaster.
Haematological studies on the
Effect of insecticides on the haemocytes morphology of above mentioned insects.
Total and differential blood cell counts.
Knowledge of transmission electron microscopic techniques for blood cells, brain tissues,
reproductive organs.
Insect cell line maintenance in vitro, Cytotoxicity and genotoxicity assays.
