About HiH exercise• First time held at Kunming (China) in 2007.• Secodn edition held at Belgaum in 2008.• Post-2008, put on hold due to diplomatic spats over stapled visa and other

issues in 2009-2010.• Resumed in 2013, with the third edition being held at Miaoergang in China.• The sixth edition was held in Pune in 2016.

The Rural Development Ministry done a gap analysis of more than3.5 lakh villages, in more than 1.6 lakh panchayats under theMission Antyodaya convergence scheme.Key Highlights

• More than 95% of villages have electricity available for domestic use• Only 58% of villages — slightly more than 2 lakh of the 3.5 lakh surveyed

villages — are open defecation free (ODF).• Only 21% of villages having a community waste disposal system.• 25% of all villages have more than 75% of households using clean energy,
