Editorial Opening of Academic Year
2012/2013!!!
To start a new Academic Year is an outstanding event. We are
so happy to welcome our Curie Family back to school
2012/2013. We welcome the families that have joined us who
will strengthen our community, sharing with Curie School the
education of their children. This August 16th, we have welco-
med PreSchool, Elementary, Midldle and High School Stu-
dents. So many loved faces, so many smiles, so many emotions, great expectations…
One hundred and eighty eight days are ahead of us, waiting to be lived with the joy of
learning and the happiness of growing in Science Art and Humanism.
Teachers and Staff for this 2012/2013 are eager to start their learning/teaching journey
with state- of-the-art technology within the classrooms, that will enhance the tools and
resources to stimulate and lead to successs the learning of our Curie Students. We are
happy to invite each one of you to embrace this technological revolution we are under-
going.
As you know we are coming to the end of the accreditation process. We are continuing
to gather data, getting your feedback as well as that of your children, teachers and staff.
Shortly you will be contacted by Bernie Hagan, our English Adviser, to ask you to com-
plete an opinion survey. In this survey you will have an opportunity to express your
opinion about our Curie learning processes.
Our infrastructure is in expansion. Construction sites will give birth In the coming
months to many of the dreams we had had since the beginning of our Curie School.
The first site will become our Chemistry and Physics Lab as well as our Astronomy
Observatorium. The second, will become the Middle School and the Arts Building. On
the coming days we will be starting the construction of the Semi-Olimpic Pool. We plan
to have all the construction finished by the end of this year.
Putting into practice our Paradigm to learn from all opportunities and environments we
will be inviting our students to learn from this construction lab that we happen to have
within our campus.
On behalf of our Teachers and Administrative Staff we start the unfolding of this great
Academic year, with the certainty that we are a team working together hand in hand,
teachers and families on behalf of the learning of your children and youngsters. If last
year we discovered an asteroid, who knows what we will discover this year?
It is awesome to give life to daily learning, this is what we love to do. This morning we
felt the young ones positive energy and enthusiasm for learning. Let´s make this Aca-
demic 2012/2013 Year an unforgettable year both for your children and the rest of the
Curie Community.

Dear Curie Families:
Welcome to our school year 2012-2013 with constant celebrations due to our XV School Anniversary. I am
your child’s high school principal, and I am more than pleased to have your son/daughter in our school.
I have been at Curie School for eleven years beginning teaching Chemistry Class to our First Graduating
Class, later I became to be the mathematic teacher for High School and now I have the honor to accept and
to be the principal for the High School in Curie.
I have always believed that education is the most valuable thing we inherit to our child, and that the respon-
sibility of having a great success depends on parents, teachers and students. As you know parental involve-
ment in child’s education is one of the strongest indicator of student achievement. Therefore, your help and
support will not only make your son/daughter more successful in school this year but will instill good habits
that will last a lifetime.
I am looking forward to a very productive and successful academic school year 2012-2013.
Regards
