Join our Transition Teachers and get what you need. Here are the new options:

Course 027053—Goals: Set, Achieve, and Celebrate Them

Not sure what is next for your career track? Join us for a planning session to complete an interest inventory, identify personal strengths, begin a personal plan, and sign up for classes to achieve this plan. This course is taught by a certificated,college and career counselor. Saturday, December 8th from 9-12.

Course 027052—Enroll in College

Join us to review all of the items needed for the college application process. Learn some DO’s and DON’T’s but mostly have someone walk you through the process so you can get on your way! This class is specifically designed for students transitioning from our Adult School programs to the community college. Others, however, are welcome. Saturday, December 15th, from 9-12.

Course 027050—Resume and Cover Letter Tune-Up

The most effective resumes are not mass-produced but written for a single employer with a particular position or goal in mind. When you send out a resume, you must have a cover letter. Your cover letter should bring your resume to life, demonstrate your enthusiasm and creativity, and tell an employer why you are uniquely qualified for the job. Come learn resume and cover letter QUICK TIPS and DO’S and DONT’S that is taught by a Human Resources. Saturday, December 15th from 9-12.

Adult School Refund PolicyNo refunds will be given to students who voluntarily withdraw from the class in which they have enrolled. Please choose your classes carefully. Because teachers’ salaries are paid by the fees collected, there are no refunds. Refunds will be given automatically if we cancel a class. For Parenting Refund Policy see pages 16-18.

This 40-hour training provides qualified bilingual students with the skills required to deliver accurate and complete interpretation in a health care setting. The curriculum is based on the standards of California Health Care Interpreting.

Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate ProgramAs a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) you will be working closely with patients, and responsible for basic care services such as bathing, grooming and feeding patients, assisting nurses with medical equipment, and checking patient vital signs. CNAs give patients important social and emotional support and also provide vital information on patient conditions to nurses. You may work in hospitals, nursing care facilities, or community care facilities for the elderly.

The 175 hours includes classroom instruction, skills laboratory, and clinical training. Upon successful completion of the program, students will take the State Certified Nurse Assistant examination on our campus.

Because this is state certification there are very specific and important Program Prerequisites:

Administrative Medical AssistantBegin your career in the fast growing medical field. As a Medical Assistant you will be in demand and have opportunities for advancement in a medical office. Medical Assistants perform many administrative duties. They answer telephones, greet patients, update and file patient medical records, fill out insurance forms, handle correspondence and schedule appointments. Career & Technology Training: Medical & CPR

Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) This training program was developed following the Department of Health Services guidelines for the education of nurse assistants to become certified home health aides. It was designed as a 40-hour add-on course to follow a nurse assistant curriculum that meets Federal and State training regulations. The intent of this curriculum is threefold:

1. To promote quality of care in the home care setting2. To provide entry-level skills for employment as a home health aide and3. To expand the role of a C.N.A. as a paraprofessional. Admission Requirements1. Possess a valid California Certified Nursing assistant (CNA) certificate 2. Valid California Drivers License3. TB test must be current and less than 6 months old or a negative chest x-ray less than 2 years old. 4. Advanced High English skills (test may be given). Written competency evaluation of basic Certified Nursing Assistant skills will be given.

Admission ProcedureTo apply for admission, the applicant must:1. Submit all completed documentation as listed in the admission requirements2. Pay a non-refundable fee of $180.00 upon enrollment

Parent & child grow together in an enriched environment that nurtures the whole family. Parents attend once each week while children attend according to the class schedule below. Preschool activities are designed to stimulate your child’s emotional, intellectual, physical, and social growth through art, music, science, literature, cooking, dramatic play, motor activities, and field trips. School readiness skills are also addressed. Parents participate in classroom activities helping to supervise, providing snack, and attending parent-ed meetings where information on child development and related topics is provided. It is not necessary for your child to be toilet-trained.

Gym Kids Motor DevelopmentThrough the use of a wide variety of specialized gym equipment, small children develop balance, coordination and body strength in a group setting.
