The Old Anatomical Theatre – the cradle of Estonian medical science – is temporarily closed to the public due to the renovation works that started in November 2011. Until then it was the place to visit the exhibits describing the history of the old anatomical theatre and the medical collection of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tartu. Nevertheless, walking on the dome hill you can still enjoy the exterior of the Old Anatomical Theatre – the most magnificent example of the 19th century architecture in Tartu with its rotunda being the true pearl of the whole building.
