  • Position: Video Editor

    Drawing from years of documentation of our work to support the rich cultural and ecological knowledge of Native peoples, we are creating a series of short videos. First, in the next two months we will produce one short poetic promotional video (~1 min) about all of our work with Indigenous peoples worldwide. Then, we will make a series of short documentary videos on the revitalization of Native watercraft traditions, the cultivation of Native foodways, traditional ecological knowledge, youth voices and leadership, and other topics related to our work.

    For this work, we are seeking an experienced video editor with deep connection to Native communities and a passion for collaborating in a team. Work will take place in a studio in North Oakland, with equipment provided, working primarily in Adobe Premiere. The editor will work closely with our Media Director, Mateo Hinojosa, to first log and capture a significant amount of footage in various formats, and tag it for editing in our various videos. Then, the editor will edit these videos, working closely with the Director and TCC President.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    Proficiency in Premiere or Final Cut Pro a must (Premiere preferred). After Effects, Speedgrade, Audition, and Photoshop skills a big plus.

    Minimum of three years of professional experience in audiovisual production. Experience with distribution and social media a plus. Passion and commitment to advancing the eco-cultural revitalization of Indigenous

    peoples.

    Pay will be negotiated with editor on an independent contractor basis.
