SignificanceThe inner significance of Diwali is that it is a joyful celebration of the victory of
good over evil, of our spiritual qualities dominating our basic instincts, intellect
and ego. "
We decorate our homes with lanterns - why ?
our daily lives. They signify the divine light, shining its way through this
mundane world. A home bathed in light is a home in which anger, pain, and
ignorance are being dispelled; it is a home that is calling to God.
In general, Diwali signifies the triumph of good over evil, of righteousness overtreachery, of truth over falsehood, and of light over darkness.

Significance of CHOPDA POOJAN The Time to do SWOT Analysis.
Additionally, on Diwali, we begin a new checkbook; we put last years
accounts to rest. But, what about our own balance sheets? When was thelast time we assessed our minuses and plusses, our strengths and our
weaknesses, our good deeds and selfish deeds? How many years worth of
grudges and bitterness and pain have we left unchecked?
On Diwali let us turn everything over to Him (GOD), putting our strengths,
our weaknesses, our wins and our losses at His holy feet.
Let us start afresh, with a new book, unadulterated by old grudges andbitterness.

New Year A Fresh Start
On this day we clean every room of the house; we dust every corner of the
Garage, we sweep behind bookshelves, vacuum under beds and empty out
cabinets.
But, what about our hearts? When was the last time we swept out our
hearts?
When did we last empty them of all the dirt and garbage that has
accumulated throughout our lives?
Let us truly clean out our hearts; let us rid ourselves of the grudges, pain,
and anger that clutter our ability to love freely. Let us empty out every nookand cranny, so that His divine light can shine throughout.

Dos & Donts for Diwali Fesitval Always opt for Diyas (earthen deepak) instead of candles. Use
mustard oil & deshi ghee (cow) for the Diyas as its aura purifies the
environment and kills harmful germs. Candles emit lots of carbon.
Most people indulge in gambling, lottery etc. during these days.
Protest them politely even if they are your own family elders. Make
them understand the fact that in Diwali we do Laxmi puja forprosperity & by gambling we only make her insult & within minutes we
spoil our wealth. Hard earn money only can bring peace & happiness
in the home.
Dont decorate your house with too much of artificial lightings that
consume lots of electricity.

Hazards of Fire Works Displays The losses that occur due to fireworks/firecrackers are:
1. Physical: Burns, deafness. Many people die in explosions in factoriesmanufacturing fire-crackers. Sometimes, rocket-crackers set fire to huts,
heap of dry grass etc.2. Economic: It is inhuman to burn crores of Rupees on bursting fire-crackers
every year in the current scenario of poverty and inequality when 75.6% oftotal population in our country live below $2 per day (World Bank estimatesbased on 2005 data .
3. Spiritual: Devotional songs (Aarti) or sattvik sounds attract Divine energiesand deities. But noise from crackers, full of 'tama' component, attractdistressing energies. This is what we are witnessing today in the country. The Tama-charged environment affects the human mind adversely and manbecomes Tama-oriented. Hence we must impress the ill-effects
of crackers upon the young minds and stop them from bursting crackers.

Hazards of Fire Works Displays
Though Fire works is spectacular, some of them lead to casualties in
hospitals. Many children suffer with burns and severe burn injuries.
Many fire works injuries result in loss of fingers and eyes, severe
burns, deafness which are caused by powerful, illegal fire works such
as M-805, cherry bombs & ash cans.
Bottle rockets are also illegal culprits. If the rocket explodes
prematurely in the bottle, it can send shards of glass and metal flying at
high speed towards bystanders. Eye injuries are a common result and
often necessitate removal of the eye.

Hazards of Fire Works Displays
Countless other injuries are caused by fire works that are legal in many
areas. Such as Ground spinners and sparklers pose a special risk
because they appear to be safer than they really are.
Do not throw sparklers or touch the burning tip, which can reach 5380C
(1000 0 F). The best way to dispose of sparklers is in a bucket of
water, they can easily start fire when carelessly tossed away.

Hazards of Fire Works Displays
Loud noise crackers often cause sleep disturbances among infants,
patients and old people. In some cases such disturbances persists for
a long period and they have to take medication.
Asthma and other respiratory related problems are at high rise during
Diwali days. Smoky fire crackers make us more prone to diseases like
asthma, bronchitis, wind pipe & lung cancer.
The display of backyard fire works also affect earths ozone layer,
which disturbs our ecological balance.

Hazards of Fire Works Displays
The recent floods, unusual raining, tsunami and Hurricanes etc. are
mostly due to disturbed ecological balance around us.
Even animals and birds also hate fire works. Especially cats and dogs
whose ears are four time more sensitive than ours. Dogs particularly
dislike low banging noises and may react by racing away or becoming
aggressive.
