Red Certificates

Gold / Red Gold / Green Gold Certificates Garden Club Our garden club had a fantastic time last Thursday with local olive grower Katie Alhovirta of Budgee Grove. Katie brought some fresh olives, still on their branches, and showed the kids how to squeeze the fruit to test for oil content. Garden club had a taste of super fresh olive oil - harvested and pressed only a few weeks ago, along with some pesto made with the oil and some salty pickled olives - YUM!! Katie shared some videos too of the trees being harvested. We now have a big bottle of 2019 Budgee Grove Extra Virgin Olive Oil to make our weekly salad dressing. Thankyou so much for sharing your time and wonderful knowledge with us Katie!

Touch Football Report CVPS played Mudgee Public School in the first round of the NSW PSSA state knockout last Wednesday. The girls were defeated 5-0 by a well-drilled MPS team and the boys won 5-3. Both teams played well and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout their games. There are a number of year four students in both teams, with an eye on developing and improving the skills of the students for future competitions. A big thank you to parents and carers who were able to come and support the teams. The boys now play Gulgong Public in the next round. CVPS has the home game. Thanks Mr Armstrong and Mrs Treverrow.

Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition Congratulations to our students, Dusty May, Skye Simpson and Phoebe Virgona who represented our school at the Western Local Final of The Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition which was held at Dubbo West Public School. The students were required to present a prepared speech and all spoke with confidence on a variety of topics. They were then given a topic and had to prepare an impromptu speech in five minutes! Special congratulations to Dusty and Skye who were both awarded a Highly Commended in their sections! What a wonderful achievement in an extremely high quality competition. Unfortunately, Bessie Nicholson was unable to attend due to an injury but should be congratulated on her preparation efforts and enthusiasm. It has been an absolute pleasure working with such delightful and dedicated students and I'm sure they have gained valuable knowledge and skills from the experience. Special thanks to the parents who supported the students on the day. Sarah O'Connell
