1. Introduction

1.1 Product Description

3D Range Camera is composed of the laser diode illuminator and receiver sensor.

This depth camera can measure object‟s distance by pixel unit. Cube Eye Viewer

program is for viewing the image acquired by 3D Range Camera device.

You can acquire the data from the camera and store. Through a simple setup, you

can also optimize the image.

For the appropriate usage, please read the manual carefully before using the

camera.

1.2 Quality Assurance

meerecompany Inc. warrants the original components free of defects for one year

from the new product purchase date. This warranty covers failure and damage due

to defect, which may occur during the normal use. It does not cover damages or

failure resulting from mishandling, abuse, misuse or modification.

The information contained in this document has been carefully checked and is

Avoid any objects in FOV near camera‟s close range (within 1.0m). Reflection

may cause depth data error.

3. Software

Software installation package includes Cube Eye Viewer program, library and header

files for programming, sample application code, device driver and user manual. Cube

Eye Viewer can acquire and store depth data from the camera and offers various

analysis functionalities. Users can also use provided libraries to develop user

applications.

3.3 Linux Software Installation

◎ Copy and unzip Linux program: Copy “mtf_linux_1.0.tar.gz” file to Linux

folder and unzip.

# tar –xvf mtf_linux_1.0.tar.gz

# cd mtf_linux_1.0

◎ Run Driver & Library File installation

# ./mtfinstall.sh

◎ Check USB connection status: VID=03a4, PID=8718, 871A, 871C (PID

differs by model)

# lsusb

4. Cube Eye Viewer Structure & Operation

4.1 Menu Bar

① Play/Stop the video from the camera.

② Save video data as BMP image file. (Max 10 files; also saved as CSV file type)

Save Path - C:\Cube Eye\SaveData\Date Folder

③ Save consecutive frame data.(*.mee)

- Output Folder: Name of video file storage folder created under root folder

- Duration Time: Recording time of video

- Start: Begin video recording

- Stop: End video recording.

- Saved file example

- Data File Naming Format - MeereYYYYMMDDHHMMSSMMM.mee

backward

4.3 Setup Screen

Integration time (us): 4000(Default)

Module Frequency (MHz): 20(fixed)

Signal Check Threshold: 0~1000.

(If the amplitude value of IR image‟s each pixel is smaller than this

check threshold, this pixel is regarded as invalid pixel. Invalid pixel will

be shown as “0”. This „Function‟ can be used to reduce background

noise)

Soft Distance Offset (mm): Set the distance offset of depth data.

Min Depth Range: Set the minimum depth range.

(The depth value lower than minimum is set zero)

Max Depth Range: Set the Maximum depth range.

(The depth value greater than maximum is set zero)

※ Min, Max value should be chosen depending on the user environment.

Flip Horizontally: Enable/ Disable horizontal flip

Flip Vertically: Enable/ Disable vertical flip

Filter Select: Select among „No filter‟, „Smoothing Filter‟, or „Segmentation Filter‟

Current Temperature: Show camera temperature

Model Name: Show camera model

5. Troubleshoot

5.1 FAQ & Solution

◎ In case of driver installation failure,

Check the USB connection. If you use USB Hub, also check the Hub

power status.

If the driver is not installed continuously, please try to use another USB

port.

◎ If images are not displayed,

Check the camera adapter power status.

Check the Setup Dialog value. (Check Threshold, Min/Max value)

If the camera parameter data in the ROM has been deleted, images may

not be displayed. In that case, please contact with meerecompany.

◎ If depth data is out of its tolerance bound,

Minor data error may occur depending on the user environment or

temperature. However, if the error is continuous and not consistent with

provided specifications, please contact with meerecompany.
